“Fairy Caves Kuching”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 20, 2013

Honestly the most breathtaking view I could ever imagine seeing inside a cave. Incredibly luscious greenery and the lack of safety precautions (while alarming) made it all the more beautiful because of the natural feel it gave off and the imperfect steps winding all the way up, down and around the cave.
Not for people who tire out easily - so much more worth seeing than the wind caves in which you see nothing at all literally but are still interesting to go to.

Loved it.

“Not maintained”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2013

If u r a nature-traveller, then u might want to experience this dark cave. Honestly, there's nothing much. Only an abandoned cave. No park personnel, no safety measures, safety briefing whatsoever. U go in, u are at ur own risk. It's slippery inside and u will need a torchlight to go inside. I explored some of the routes inside eventhough it was dark because I like adventure activity. SInce I have no preparation, I just used my phone as the only source of light. At the end, I found an exit but go back to the entrance since the exit is located at the other part of the higher cave. I think people will go here eventually to experience cave but it's just not maintained and abandoned.

Bring a torch! And shoes with good grip! Be adventurous and wander deeper into the caves.
It's an unique experience.

“We did Fairy caves and Wind caves as one excursion”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2013

This worked because the two caves were very different in nature. Wind caves were the sort of cave I expected, subterranean with water running through and lots and lots of bats. We also saw the swallows who nest in the caves. It was dark and fascinating. Note that I mean dark. There are no lights and so you need to bring a torch. Fairy cave by contrast is up high - plenty steps to climb! It is a big and open vista which feels like the sort of view you would get on Journey to the Centre of the Earth. It really does take your breath away (not just from the climbing). If you find an operator who does both caves in one trip, take it because the experience is enhanced by the contrast between the caves.

“Must Visit - Live your Indiana Jones fantasy!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2013

These caves were beautiful! I have no words to describe it. Don't leave Kuching without visiting this! Remember to bring a torch and come. Some of the pathways are a bit narrow and can get slippery in the rain so be prepared with trekking shoes. It is a completely different experience!
