“Comfortable and cozy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013

The hotel is new, clean, spacious room and bathroom, and nice view of the city. It's quite close to Sarawak River and there are restaurants selling good local foods and few points of attraction nearby. We reached there earlier but we were allowed to check-in 2 hours earlier, and also allowed to check-out 2 hours later, free-of-charge, which I find was an value-added service. Facilities were quite limited, only one place to have a drink at night with no live-band on Sunday night and ended the service at 12.00 am sharp.

Stayed here for a conference held in the hotel. The hotel is strategically located, within walking distance to the Waterfront, and city. Room is very comfortable and tastefully decorated. The hotel provides usual amneties in the room (even a gym mat and dumbbell!) minus cloth iron and toothbrush. What sorely lacking is complimentary internet connection - the hotel only provides complimentary 1 hour LAN internet access per day. As I was there for several days, staying unconnected greatly inconvenient work related task. This was the deciding factor for me to move to a different hotel within the vicinity that not only cheaper and comfortable, but with great complimentary internet access. Kuching, thankfully is not lacking the options.

Being the newest kid on the block in Kuching for Business Hotels. Expectations were set slightly high but I left slightly dissapointed particularly on these two aspects cleanliness and service.

The rooms were spacious with all necessary toiletries provided and the bed was really comfy. I liked the idea that the hotel provided options on the type of pillow you could choose. However I found that the bathroom was slightly dirty with stains visible and furthermore I had a face towel with black stains on it which was subsequently left in the bathtub for it to be changed (which housekeeping never did). Additionally given that the hotel lobby used white flooring, stains were often visible on the lobby floor given the high traffic of the lobby.

I found service at the hotel to be rather cold, this was really in relation to the waiters. They looked hostile and were not warm whatsoever. Exception given to the front desk though, they were quite friendly. Breakfast selection was limited and was slightly below average if I have to compare to other hotels.

That being said, location is really unbeatable but for the price that I am paying, I would have rather topped up and head over to Hilton where service was top notch and the place much more warmer.

I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights (19-22 June 2013) for a conference that was held at the hotel.

Pullman Kuching stunningly situated on top of a hilly part of the town, so most of the rooms command a magnificent view of the town (east or west side, water front could be view from eithers side) but be prepared to loss some weight if one going to do lot of walking. The hotel also is integrated with a shopping complex (Hills) but don't expect to much of the place, much better to shop at the nearby shops that selling all the souvenir stuff & the Sarawak's handy craft. Many good restaurant, even the famous open air 'roof top seafood dining area' ( a must visit for gourmet fan) are walking distance. So the location of the Pullman is great if one plans to explore the city centre.

Inside, the lobby is quite huge, but rather plain and nothing special to say. Same with the room, that is the one facing west ( not quite sure what type of room, but know that it facing to the west) is rather spacious and difference from ordinary/typical hotel room lay out. However, can't say the same about the bed. It is a simple single bed ( not super single) for double bed room, really small.

Food, for breakfast, quite good. For lunch, the choice and variety are really good ( have all the mixture of western and local cuisine)

My check in was rather slow but otherwise the service was ok and the staff more than willing to help.

Only if there is a free wifi available in guestroom, I would give it overall an excellent stay. Being the newest hotel in town, I would expect an up-to-date facilities. Yes, there is a broadband access but nowadays people using smartphones & tablets. Only nerd will carry laptop everywhere they go.
Unbeatable location, excellent view on both side of the building. Stayed in executive superior but I discovered that it has similar layout with non-executive superior room. The only difference is, you have a privilege to executive lounge which provide free wifi among other benefits.
Good breakfast but can be really crowded because this hotel is a favourite place to hold conference/seminar etc. Swimming pool & gym located at the same level where there is a conference hall. So, if it happens to be a big conference, you need to brave through among them to get there.
Direct access to Hills shopping complex (mostly empty premises). Easy to find taxi day & night. Many good restaurants are within walking distance. TopSpot is a mere 3 min walk.

This is one of the Pullman hotel that offered good value for the price paid for the rooms. We were staying at the club floor and the club lounge was simply fantastic. It offered a great view of Kuching city and it is huge as compared to some of the other lounges in other hotels. There are always ample seats and the lounge was never crowded even during the breakfast time. Stay in the club rooms when you are staying in this hotel, you will have a good time enjoying the view and plushness of the place.

We stayed at Deluxe King Room. It was spacious, modern n chic. The room has a big window overlooking the town. The bathroom was incredible with bath tub with a view. The room also has a small walk in closet. It was very thoughtful of the management to provide a pair of 1kg dumbbells and a yoga mat. Pillows are excellent and enough for me and hubby. We usually fought for pillows haha. Bed was very comfortable. Loving the toiletries also! Love everything about this hotel, love the pool, love the spa. The pool is very child freindly with playground.
