“Great value. Nice hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2013

The Limetree is rated #1 in Kuching on Tripadvisor. I think the staff know this and are eager to retain top spot and are well trained , friendly and attentive.
Free welcome lime drink and delicious lime marmalade for breakfast are nice touches..
Offered an upgrade on arrival. Check in seamless.. Rooms clean and comfortable. Rooftop bar nice for a cold sundowner.Hotel shuttle bus to airport excellent.
2 minor quibbles. Location is average only . A walk to the waterfront along Jalan Abell is an unpleasant one with car repair shops and traffic. Better to cut across to the river direct and follow the path along the river..
My wish list would be to add a swimming pool.
Otherwise this hotel is fantastic value in terms of price and outstanding service..Would return.

Lives up to all the positives. Spent a few days there in November 2013. Fantastic staff....nothing too much trouble.
Clean, efficient, with smiling service. Excellent buffet breakfast included.
It is an old hotel which has been fully renovated, with new bathrooms. A pleasure to stay there.

All the reviews are right, this hotel just does everything right. We stayed 3 nights which we organised ourselves and 2 separate nights organised by a tour company. The rooms are compact with a good bathroom and very clean and everything in good working order. The staff really could not do more to help you with anything you might want...they are a real asset. The breakfast buffet has a wide range of local and western items all well prepared and presented. It is easy to see why this place gets top rating.

One tip if you don't want to pay per item for laundry, just around the corner from the hotel Spotfree do a 1st class job at RM6/kg

Room Tip: There is a little more noise from the rooms adjacent to the main road but in none of the 3 rooms we...

This Hotel is perfect, clean, well managed, staff are friendly, theres a nice rooftop bar. What else can I say?

If it ain't broke, don't fix it I suppose.

It was my first time in Kuching and it made a pleasant city even better. I suppose the highlight for me was watching a lightning storm while having a beer on the rooftop bar.

Everything you need in Kuching City centre is within 15 minutes walking distance.

I did'nt see a fitness centre or require room service. There might be one, I don't know why its in the questionnaire though.

Stayed for 2 nights with a friend. Staff friendly and attentive. Room was clean. Walking distance to the waterfront area. Cosy rooftop bar. Breakfast buffet was delicious. Many economical eateries nearby. Free WiFi. Gift shop selling Sarawak and The LimeTree hotel merchandise. Informative staff on the operating hours and the cost of taking tambang across Sarawak River.

However there were some qualms. There was no email reply on the booking enquiry via The LimeTree hotel website which was sent out 6 days in advance before we reached Kuching. Internet connection was pretty slow and sometimes did not work at all. Only 1 room card was given. It was ok as we went out and returned together. Perhaps the management could exercise flexibility for guests staying at a room to have more than 1 card.

Nevertheless, it was an enjoyable stay in this hotel!

As a small boutique and budget hotel this one ticks a lot of boxes. Very attentive and responsive staff who actually care. From the free welcome drink on the roof to the more than adequate breakfast and small but neat rooms we felt very comfortable here. They are also genuinely trying to do something for the environment in an understated sort of way. Manager very visible and great local knowledge.
