Really excellent stay at this hotel. It was a great pleasure for me to stay here for one week. Modern hotel, decently styled in Lime - green color atmosphere. Very well equipped rooms, comfortable bed, lot of space, free Wi-Fi, complimentary coffee, tea, electric kettle, every day I obtained new 2 bottles of water, modern bathroom was equipped with their own produced lime soap, lime shower gel (fantastic). The breakfast was great - you can find everything what you want - combination of English style breakfast with Malayan style, big variety of traditional sweets, cakes, fruits, freshly prepared lime juice etc. The rooftop restaurant is also great, the prices are very nice. (and the quality of food... great). Position of the hotel is also very good, just few steps from China town and 10 minutes of walk along busy main street (= safety) is the riverside and the "centre" of Kuching. Staff was very helpful and very kind. They arranged a lot of trips for me (even if I not stayed at the hotel in the "high" turistic season) with fantastic local guide (Ask for Billy ?Hillary? - a great man, if you want to visit caves, Bako national park, longhouse etc.). If you will stay there, remember to buy some great things in their own small souvenir shop located at hotel lobby next to the main entrance. You can find there a variety of their own natural products made from limes (lime soap, shower gel, lipstick, marmalade, fantastic and tasty fruit drops, body cream etc...) Only one disadvantage was a noisy street - but on the other hand, if you spend a whole day by exploring the island in tropical weather, you will sleep well no matter the noisy street. If you are a light sleeper - ask for a room which is not oriented directly to the main street. In conclusion, the last thing what I want to highlight is a great Mr. Owner of the hotel (and the owner of the lime-plantage). From some reasons (air-con, different climate) I had a cold. When Mr. Owners saw me at the dinner, he promised, that he will take care about me. So he jumped to his car (at 9:30 PM !!) and went to the town for some medicine for me. The next day, he invited me to join him for the trip to his lime-plantage to collect fesh limes - for the hotel restaurant and for me - so I could prepare own fresh lime juice and took at least 5 kilos of limes back home :-) Next time in Kuching, the Limetree hotel is definitely a clear choice.
