“Almost perfect, but if you asking, I'll say PERFECT!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2013

There's an issue with the water pressure in the bathroom during my stay and Tune Hotels is highlighting power showers with high-pressure in their website.

But with all the good service provided which value for money, it's just disappeared just like the beautiful sunset in Kuching :)

after all cost add in you can find better hotel nearby with better price and facility.the checkin counter was unpleasant staff manning bcoz they dont look at you with a smile and they will rant among them and dont bother you standing infront counter.if you are big sizes dont stay here bcoz you can hardly move inside the room and bathroom door cannot enter for big size people.the coridor very noisy with people walking and talking you can hear and can wake up you if sleeping.

Room Tip: all the room under tune name are the same small and compact

The rooms are clean and the bed is so comfortable. You wake up feeling refreshed and with no aches and pains. For the price we pay, we get a room that is no doubt small but comfy. Personally, I would prefer an all in paid for room that we don't have to keep track of how much air conditioning time we have left as well as TV and WiFi. Every time you remove the card from the panel, it deducts 5 minutes of your air conditioning time.

Room Tip: The Waterfront side has a better view than the back rooms which face the back alley.

Stayed here for 3 nights early March 2013. What I love about the hotel is the location to others point of attractions are just perfect! Some just a walking distance like the Top Spot Food Court (famous for their seafood), Bing! Cafe, even the jetty to cross Sarawak River to Kampung Boyan is just nearby, you can shop for Kek Lapis, Ikan Terubuk Masin & a lot of Sarawak's local foods can be found there. If you rent a vehicle, make sure you buy the parking coupon before you park in front of the hotel, if you don't want to see a 'ticket' on your windscreen and the car park is very limited.

Being new to Kuching, I have to find the way to the hotel using my own GPS device. Parking can be limited as there is no parking facilities provided and furthermore you have to use a parking coupon system in the public parking areas in front of the hotel. You can get the parking coupon in around 5mins walk down the Kuching Waterfront.

Once I checked in the room, I immediately noticed the floor was dirty with shoe stains on the floor. Stains on the sink in the bathroom. I wonder whether the housekeeping notice this or not. No other room issues apart from this. Room is very basic with basically nothing except for the fan and shower which is free of charge. Other than that, it needs money. TV, aircon, Wi-Fi all needs to pay. It can be noisy at night when people outside the room is walking around and there is even a radio blasting around till 3am. I wonder if the noise is from outside the hotel as it is facing those back alleys and shops.

There are also good points about the hotel which is very near to Kuching Waterfront and restaurants. When in Kuching, remember to take the River cruise or you can take the small motorboat and cross the river across to buy the kek lapis for a RM0.50 fee

No receptionist was at the counter the next day when I check out around 6.30am. Being new to Tune Hotels, I only realized I need to bring down the towels during check out. Probably they want to deter people from stealing the 'cheap' towels. The hotel can at least put a note at the couter or inform its residents when they check in.

Hi There,

Cleanliness has always been one of our priorities and something we do not compromise. Reviews like yours allow us to pinpoint areas in need of improvement.

We comprehend the inconveniences you had experience when poor housekeeping habits resulted in unsanitary conditions

Our limited service concept means that we reduce the room size and the complimentary extras whilst simultaneously lowering the prices we offer . The parking spaces are limited, parallel to the limited service concept, and pride ourselves in providing a comfortable bed and shower for a wonderful slumber experience. Henceforth, parking is on a first come first serve basis.

We have taken your feedback seriously and all relevant parties have been notified.

Thanks for letting us know and glad that you enjoyed the other parts of your stay and we truly hope for the opportunity to provide you with a stay that exceeds your expectations in the future.

Warm Regards,
De Silva-Customer Care Manager

Attended a wedding in Kuching on 22 & 23 March. Booked this hotel, based on previous stay at Tune Hotel Danga Bay, JB experience.

As all I needed was a hotel with good bed and shower with easy access to food and transport, this hotel met my requirements with my budget.

- Surprisingly, there's no hair dryer in the bathroom.

Notwithstanding, I'll not hesitate to choose this hotel again.

Very nice location right in front of the waterfront. Best value in town for sure, you will not find anything with that kind of service for $11.
Construction of high rise building started recently right beside Tune hotel. As of today the noise going during the day time.

What was GOOD:
1) Price
2) Location
3) Staff on reception
4) Quality of bed ( but not lining)

What was not so good:
1) Noise from the street (auto and construction)
2) Exceptional noise from A/C evaporation mounted outside our window
3) Different style of FAN (compare to other Tunes)
4) Lining with a lot of stains and old
5) Hot water in the shower started sometime after 10 min of waiting
6) No hot water in the sync! Also very low pressure of water in the sync.
7) The Tunes Power shower was not Power like in other Tunes hotels

Room Tip: Ask for the waterfront side with window. Highest floor possible.
