“Excellent location. Value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2013

Attended a wedding in Kuching on 22 & 23 March. Booked this hotel, based on previous stay at Tune Hotel Danga Bay, JB experience.

As all I needed was a hotel with good bed and shower with easy access to food and transport, this hotel met my requirements with my budget.

- Surprisingly, there's no hair dryer in the bathroom.

Notwithstanding, I'll not hesitate to choose this hotel again.

Very nice location right in front of the waterfront. Best value in town for sure, you will not find anything with that kind of service for $11.
Construction of high rise building started recently right beside Tune hotel. As of today the noise going during the day time.

What was GOOD:
1) Price
2) Location
3) Staff on reception
4) Quality of bed ( but not lining)

What was not so good:
1) Noise from the street (auto and construction)
2) Exceptional noise from A/C evaporation mounted outside our window
3) Different style of FAN (compare to other Tunes)
4) Lining with a lot of stains and old
5) Hot water in the shower started sometime after 10 min of waiting
6) No hot water in the sync! Also very low pressure of water in the sync.
7) The Tunes Power shower was not Power like in other Tunes hotels

Room Tip: Ask for the waterfront side with window. Highest floor possible.

This is the 1st time I stay in Tune hotel and I was given a corner room which is very big and wide. It is a simple and clean room. Everything is in order. The only drawback is that the room is too simple and empty. You can't stand to stay in the room for any time longer than your sleeping time. It is just too boring. However, I was satisfied with my 1-day stay here and it was very convenient as there are transport service with reasonable charges.

Bad things:
- Cleanliness is something the hotel drastically needs to improve on. There are toilet stains, towels & bed sheets are not clean. The room we stayed are not well maintained.
- Power shower: the shower is just a normal shower. Not a power shower as per Tune Hotel's concept. The water pressure is too low and I didn't enjoy at all the shower.
-Car park: yes there is car park at the hotel but it's not Tune Hotel's car park. In front of the hotel is just a public car park where you need coupon to park or risk being summon by the local authority. At the back of the hotel there is paid car park that belongs to the complex behind the hotel. Tune Hotel should put this information accurately.
- Add On TV: unlike aircond where the time only counts when you use the aircond in the room. Once you activate your TV, the time will start for 24 hours no matter you watching the TV or you are not in the room. It will end 24 hrs from activation. Tune Hotel concept is pay-per-use but you are still charged when you are not using the TV. Another thing funny is if you stay for 1 night and you purchase the add on TV, you will not be able to watch your TV for full 24 hrs unless you pay for late check-out to check out at 2pm. I paid for this add on and the channel reception was bad and blurry. At lease the hotel should provide a good channel coverage.
- Wifi internet: be careful on this one because if you don't look in details, you will miss the note that the internet connection per device only. If you have activate the key on 1 device, you will be able to use the key on another device.

Good things:
-Location: the hotel is located at a very strategic place. Only few minutes walk to the waterfront and other local attractions and food outlets. it is so much convenience to travel around. the hotel also provide map of local attractions for the guest.
-Friendly staff: the staff is very friendly and helpful. they can advice you on the local attractions and good places to eat.
-Umbrella service: don't worry if it is raining, you can borrow umbrella from the hotel to move around and at the moment, they're still not charging for this!

Room Tip: ask for room facing hilton hotel. the other rooms facing the shop lot behind the hotel does not give...

Hi,

Thank you for completing a Trip Advisor Review on your recent stay at Tune Hotels Downtown Kuala Lumpur.

Our hotel essentially operates on a limited service concept, parallel to a “pay as you use concept” Since we are a Limited Service Hotel, we provide the basics for a good night sleep.

For non-essential items such as TV, Wi-Fi, tea and coffee, guests only pay if they need them. Guests not using the extra facilities won't be charged for them as part of the room price. The benefit of this efficiency is passed on to the consumer providing excellent value for money and low prices. As such this explains why car parking facilities are not part of the Tune model.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts about our hotel we are glad that you enjoyed the other parts of your stay and we hope to have the sincere pleasure of welcoming you back soon.

Regards,
Sharon-Customer Care Manager

I stayed in Tune Hotel about 5 nights. This is budget hotel. You get what you pay. The room costs about RM 40 per night (inclusive tax) if you book it earlier. If you want air-conditioner, you need to pay extra RM 22 for 24 hours. The room is small.
The location is strategic. Waterfront, supermarket, restaurants, bus stop located within walking distance.

Dear Guest,

Thanks for the review.

We offer the basic; a comfortable bed and hot shower for a wonderful slumber experience, always located centrally, all at extremely affordable prices. Our rooms are space-challenged, but they're impeccably clean and perfectly adequate as "crash pads".

Our limited service concept encourages guests to spend less within the hotel itself, driving more spend outside the hotel.

Keeping things clean, comfy and compact helps in regulating affordable pricing, thus, translating them to saving for guests.

Thank you so much for the feedback and we happy to be part of making your stay a worthwhile experience.

See you soon.
