“The best vegetarian dumplings”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2012

I ate here several times during my stay in Kuching and loved it. Down to earth with a really nice atmosphere. The honey and lime juice was delicious and so refreshing after walking in the 30+ degree heat. The vegetable dumplings were the best i've ever tasted. So fresh. Staff very welcoming and friendly. If you are vegetarian just let them know as some of the vegetable dishes have meat in them. I told them I was veggie and they were so nice about it. A gem!

“Great food and atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2012

This place is very well decorated inside - it is like a little bamboo garden which is lovely and incredibly relaxing. The food is very good and well prices and the drinks are delicious (particularly the passion green tea!). Food is freshly cooked - noodles are delicious and not greasy at all (as we have found in some places in Malaysia), steamed dumplings were great too. Service is very quick and all staff are friendly and attentive. Free Wi-Fi here too.

“Vitality”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2012

When you walk through the doors of Life's Cafe, the tiny" bamboo garden", the trickling water fountain, and the soft Chinese music, you immediately feel your mind and body bieng vitalised. The reasturant is tastefully decorated, Chinese paintings hang on the walls, paper lanterns, the antique gramophone, sewing machine and the clock, which strikes at the hour, add a touch of quirkiness.

The menu is simple and includes healthy herbs soups, vegetarian meals, desserts, a variety of green teas, ice black teas juices, snaks and desserts. All the meals are supposedly good for your health, e.g. Spleen, liver etc.

I had the traditional tea egg for RM 1.80, Life's dry noodles with Sichuan chilli pepper which is supposedly good for the liver and eyes and sago honey dew milk. If you don't have a sweet tooth you have to specify because the juices and teas can be very very sweet.

The food is great, but you could have similar meals for half the price in smaller cafes, so the ambience and service makes this place memorable.
