“Good for a rest”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2013

It is just a nice trip to see the monkeys in the wild, green river flowing in tranquility. It takes time to go next to the river side about 100 km far from the city. Once you arrive the place you can have coffee with fried banana, wafflelike thingy and a jellylike sweet. After 2 hours boat trip, seeing proboscis monkeys watching the amazing sunset we returned to the same place to have dinner. There was an open buffet with loads of variety of malay cuisine. I think the food was delicious.
The best part was riding the boat again in the calmness of the evening. it was pitch black, all the trees on the river bank were full of fireflies. They were like stars on the eye level.
Overall I like the trip but it is good only once in a life time. It was a good experience.

“Good way to spend an afternoon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

We booked this tour through Borneo Tropical Holidays and it was well worth the $50 Aud. pp we spent. It is quite a long drive to get there but once there we started with afternoon tea with a great range of cakes and pastries, some we knew and others we did not but which were still nice. Then onto the boats and down the river. We saw many monkeys and a monitor lizard to boot. After approx 90 minutes we returned to a different jetty for dinner which was wonderful. Such an assortment, including seafood, to choose from and more than enough to go around. Back to the boats and back on the river to watch the fireflies. Absolutely amazing. We then got back to hotel around 9pm. Would recommend to anybody

“Great experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2012

We have a great time on this trip. Was great to get out of KK where we were staying and see some proper jungle and forest. We got great views of the Proboscis Monkeys, 3 separate groups in fact with a male on show in each group. We also saw the Long-tailed Macaques and the Silver-lined Langurs. Other wildlife included monitor lizards and lots of birds and bats. It must have been a good time of year (September) for fireflies as they were spectacular, 6-7 different trees just completely full of them, looking like a decorated Christmas tree. Really enjoyed the trip.

“Real jungle!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2012 via mobile

It was what we expected and a great experience for us have never been to jungle.
We can see wild animals closely and much more exciting than animals in the cage of zoo. It's amazing to see real monkeys in the nature.
But the guide told me sometimes it's up to luck if you can see monkeys or not.
There are so many mosquitos at night, especially when we had a dinner. We didn't take a insect repellent spray and fortunately we borrowed it from a family in the same group. It's a must have.
Anyway, it's one of the great memory in Kota Kinabalu for us!

“Skip it if u have already seen enough monkeys”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2012

I have already seen enough monkeys in Hong Kong. So it does not worth a visit to pay MYR190 and take a 4-hour traveling time just to see a few monkeys from distance. otherwise, the cruise is quite enjoyable and comfortable way for visiting the wetland. For me, the highlight was after dark the fireflies as I have never seen any before. There were also a lots of buffalo swimming in the river in the dark. That was quite a scene.
