My husband and I stayed in this brand new hotel for 2 weeks on holiday which was not only modern and clean but absolutely comfortable and well located. 15 minutes drive to the airport with restaurants right alongside it. A short walk brought us to the waterfront lined with a variety of bars, asian and european restaurants -select the fresh seafood, lobster, calamari, giant prawns and they barbeque it while you wait. Sit at the communal tables and eat with your fingers like the locals.
From the moment we checked in to checking out we found the staff and service to be outstanding. Extremely helpful staff - warm, friendly and efficient, there was nothing to fault.
Rooms are spacious, tastefully decorated and furnished, our room had a view of a water village (houses on stilts) - how amazing. Fully air conditioned, the room had a safe, mini fridge, make your own coffee and tea for free, hair dryer, ironing board, telephone and full bathroom amenities - that is value for money. The hotel restaurant, De Patio serves the best oxtail assam pedas and tagliatelle and the wine selection is superb - yum!
The perfect place to stay as a base as we explored the many sights, went on excursions and adventure to the orang utan sanctuary, white water rafting, scuba diving around beautiful outlying islands, golfing at the foot of Mount Kinabalu, watch spectacular sunsets on the beach of the Yacht Club ....
One little set back was they need to finish off the bathroom as the shower cubicle had no door nor shower curtain - water just went on the bathroom floor when we took showers. However, the hotel manager did say that was their next project which is brilliant.
This delightful place and hotel is highly recommended regardless of the nature of one's visit - we love it and will return no doubt in the near future.
Higher floors with the water village view.
