Description: Was recommended to me by an Australian Yachtie that we met while here, very busy and sometimes we had to stand and stalk a table and pounce when someone left. Food was great They do have an english menu but the best stuff appears is written on the wall in Chinese. Ask feisty Aunty for a translation of sorts Meal was great and cheap, did not see beer being drunk or visible anywhere but there are a couple of Carlsberg signs on the wall, so it may be available but a mug of chinese tea did it for us when we were there.

“Go early for the parking and table!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2012 via mobile

On weekdays, me and friend reached at around 645pm, thinking that it is still early to get table and car park. Who knows... It is totally a nightmare to find a car park ! We gave up finally after 20 minutes just to round the place find parking.

The food has always been awesome. To get there, do go as early as possible (6-630pm)! To save the hassle, maybe can park your car at suria shopping mall and walk there, it's only 5-8 minutes walking distance.

“Good Chinese Food But Full of Oily Smoke”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2012

The heading speaks for itself. I think they need to invest in a good ventilation system to suck out all the oily smoke that comes out of the kitchen!

“A treat of local chinese fare”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2012

We had soup, pork ribs and seafood bean curd pot which costs RM30 (with drinks), not bad at all. There are a varities of food to order so ask for the menu. Definitely worth a try.

“Food is average, and total dining experience is rated a "poor"”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2012

This place is highly rated by the locals, and is always crowded. It is a corner open-aired type coffee shop place, that may not appeal to everyone. If you are after some average and reasonably priced local foods, as well as the opportunity to eat and feel like a local, then give this place a try. If you are after a total dining experience, you are likely to be disappointed for the below reasons:
1. Very small and cram place, and always crowded (long wait unless going early before 6.30pm);
2. Very hot and not well ventilated (one can feel the heat from the kitchen);
3. Waiting customers after your table (usually standing next to your table and staring while you eat?);
4. Not overly clean environment;
5. This type of eating place offers minimal or no service at all, thus am surprise why service was rated so highly by others;

We ordered signature dishes such as oyster chicken wings which was good, but found the assam fish in claypot overdone, the fish pieces were full of scales and bones whcih made it very difficult to eat. Other dishes such as fried kang kong, Japanese tofu and Hokkien noodles were average (these dishes can often be found in Singapore Food Courts at comparable prices but tastier).

Based on food only, the place would have been rated an "average", but dining out is all about the complete experience, and unfortunately my visit was not a comfortable experience...

“Tasty fried shrimp dishes--you can definitely find similar and cheaper meals elsewhere in KK, but this is a solid place.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2012

We ate dinner here twice while in KK--fried shrimp in chilli sauce and fried shrimp salted (small portion, 12RM each) both reminded us of Chinese take-out you get in the U.S., but tastier. Those two shrimp dishes, two servings of steamed rice, small plate of sautéed kale (6RM) and two small waters came to 36RM--about $6USD per person--not the cheapest meal in KK if you're on a budget, but a good meal. We also tried a bean curd dish our first time there, but it wasn't that great--stick to the fried shrimp! Food made to order and served quickly.
