“Pampered with romantic ambience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2013

We went for belated valentine's and my husband's birthday celebration. We booked a room with SPA... We had wonderful time. The SPA was 5* feel so relaxed. The bedroom was decorated with flower petals and the jacuzzi was filled with rose petals. We were so impressed with the service we got in the hotel. The staffs were so caring and proactive. Thank you.

For one night I was the guest of the Pullman Putrajaya. The location is close to the airport, and for myself, a good place to have a meeting near a suppliers factory. It's huge - a map would have assisted as I got lost several times. The Hotel was clearly developed initially as a resort and morphed into a Hotel/Conference centre. I really loved the incorporation of the many Malaysian styles of art into the buildings. On arrival I was upgraded to a premier room - lovely as I'd just got of a long flight. Getting to the room was a bit of a walk - but there is a lot to look at. The room was of a standard I was not expecting - very comfortable and with a verandah. Great for this woman who is not a fan of air-conditioning - I could open the doors and let in fresh breezes. Room is not your standard boring Hotel. The Malaysian theme continues through to the decor.
The shower was a challenge. It's a hand shower with no hook to hang it on the wall!! Bit of a struggle when washing your hair.
Bed was comfortable and not overly hard.
The following morning I went looking for the pool - and looking and searching - finally found it! The door was locked to the pool even though it was past opening. This is when the size of the Pullman let's itself down. I could not find anyone to open the pool for over 1/2hour - actually, it was difficult to work out where I was in the huge complex. When I finally found a staff member - he had no English. Eventually a French member of staff was located and he showed me the OTHER entrance to the pool and unlocked it. Was it worth the effort - at least I got my swim.
The pool is ok and in need of a look at by maintenance.
Breakfast was fine - not of the standard I'd expect at such a hotel. Coffee undrinkable.
However, all the staff where wonderful. I found the level of English fairly poor in floor staff, but could get by OK. Reception staff were great and English fine.
Would I stay again. Not sure - the size is daunting and the lack of directions on walls an issue.
The walk way floor tiles are noisy when late night guests arrive and pull their bags towards their door - I was woken several times.
I am sure that the Pullman management are the sort who respond to issues and solve them. The Hotel is now managed by Accor, who I've always found responsive to making changes to improve the experience of their guests.

Room Tip: Get a map on arrival! Ask if any flight crew are coming in at night on the floor you have been locat...

Arriving at the hotel, you are treated right away to the sort of service and hospitality that you expect. Check in was simple - the staff friendly and smiling, everything went smoothly. The rooms are spacious, the bed truly comfortable. Once you lay down on it, you might want to consider never leaving it.

The grounds of the hotel are huge, and as the hotel name suggests, on the edge of a lake. It's like a small town.

There are 2 restaurants, one of which was closed for a function when I was there, so I had to make do with B's. Their Malaysia cuisine was very good - and the chef is able to cook things that are not on the menu on request.

There is also an on site convenience store. Given the fact that the hotel is actually miles from anywhere, until Putrajaya gets built properly, this is the one place that you might just end up relying on. Alas the selection there is not fantastic and the nearest 7-Eleven is 15 minutes taxi ride away.

On my final evening I called up room service and ordered a pizza with olives. And this was the only weird part of the stay. After I had placed my order, the restaurant called back and said they did not have any olives because they are not Halal.

Since when did you have to slit the throat of an olive? You pluck it from a tree. There is no such thing as a halal olive. Yet the restaurant needs halal certification for everything. Now I understand about the local customs, but surely when you are catering to guests from all walks of life, you also have to consider the fact that perhaps you should have olives.

Room Tip: Take your own olives

This is a lovely hotel accessible via train from KL and the airport, although a taxi is required from the station, too far to walk. If you dont want to stay in KL this is a nice tranquil hotel near the conference centre. It is mainly suitable for business people, but we stayed two nights in an executive room and had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. It is well worth paying the extra for an Exec room, as you have a larger room and use of the executive lounge which provides cocktails, wine, beer from 5.00 -7.00, with a plated selection of cakes, fruit, and small sandwiches. The people here were very friendly and helpful. There is a nice small pool area with gazebo and beds available and there was only the two of us on the one day. The restaurant is on the lake on a pier and also served good food. The drinks are expensive and there isnt anywhere else around the area to have a drink. We had a walk along to one of the bridges at night, which is very pretty, all lit up. Also there is a good taxi service from the hotel to the airport. Would recommend for a stopover.

Hotel is starting to look a little tired in places, but the Hotel staff work really hard to see guests enjoy their stay. Good breakfast, very good selection of pastries.Quite location not far to KL or airport.

I stayed here as my company had a conference here. The rooms are nice, staff pleasant and the food was good including the buffet breakfast. The pool area is a little average for a resort of this nature. The main problem with this hotel is the location. There is nothing nearby as it is located in a financial district so there are no other options for entertainment, dining or shopping and the bar closed at 11pm. A taxi drive to the city takes abut 45+ minutes and you have to take an expensive taxi (around 100RM). I don't recommend this hotel for children. Only good for say a romantic or quiet weekend or a business trip. The wireless Internet worked quite well in most spots.

It was really gorgeous moment to stay in a very beautiful property such pullman putrajaya lakeside. Me and my spouse were really enjoying every corner of the hotels. A peaceful and perfect point to stay inside as a honeymooner couple. Great lake view and the lights in the village part created romantic and unforgetable moment for us. To add more, services from the staffs were superb. Definitely recomend this place to our colleagues to visit, as such a compulsory ittenerary trip when visiting Malaysia.

Wish to come back there again :)
