To be frank, Penang Hill has virtually nothing else interesting but a trip there was worthwhile if you visit the villa right next to the tram station.
The historical villa, which was converted into a restaurant, offers really nice tea and scones for those who would like a romantic getaway from the hot and bustling city centre. Staff was friendly and the toilets were clean. One of the finest alfresco dining I ever had.
My experience at the peak tram was not that negative as other reviewers here. True, we were packed like sardines but it was rather exhilarating to experience a drop in temperature as the tram ascended.
