“Reclining Buddha”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2012 via mobile

We went to this Wat after visiting the Burmese temple across the street. Lovely reclining Buddha with many bright flower offerings. Very ornate buildings outside - great for pictures. Typical Thai style. Lots of smaller Buddhas to pray to / donate money to for "prosperity and long life" based on your year birth (ie rabbit, dog, tiger etc). Surprised to see the wall of ornate urns at the back which appear to house the ashes of the deceased. We went around midday during the week and there weren't too many people about. Seems like some construction was going on so couldn't go into one hall - still a lovely place to visit while in Georgetown.

“Peace and tranquility”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2012

It's been over 40 years since I first visited the reclining Buddha. As a kid I probably thought, so what. As an adult I was overwhelmed by a feeling of inner peace and tranquility. I suppose it relates to the greater sense of spirituality one gets as you grow older.
This is a very worthwhile place to visit, regardless of your religious beliefs.
Easily accessible by buses from Komtar to the northern beaches.

“Beautiful Buda”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2012

This is just a charming little oasis of calm in a bustling vibrant city of chaos.
A beautiful statue of Buda that has been well maintained, there is a room beneath the statue where for a fee one can have ones ashes placed and that is interesting to see.
I just like the calm and solitude of this beautiful place.

“Worth a look”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2012

Nice temple, but once you've had a look at the sleeping Buddha, thats kind of it all over (unless you are a Buddhist I guess).
