We saw this quaint little restaurant when we were driving from our Traders Hotel where we stayed for a few nights during this C.N.Y hols. We decided to give it a try and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is a family run business and the chef is a young man ( Aames Ang).
The menu is a mix of French and Italian with a touch of a little asian. Example lamb with jackfruit. We were there for dinner on two nights. We were not disappointed with the quality, quantity of food provided and the price.
A duck roulade cost below RM30. Most desserts like Panna Cotta and Tiramisu were under RM10. The pasta was cooked to perfection, my son ordered the prawn linguine and was not disappointed.
The dinner set menu was priced at RM29.90 which comprised of a tasty plate of pumpkin soup, a small bowl of salad, a choice of main ( here my son chose the Prawn Linguine), tiramisu for dessert on that day and ice-lemon tea drink. Coming from KL ( PJ and Bangsar and Damansara area), though simple in their set up, we found this restaurant to be equally good, if not better like many of the fine dining Italian restaurant in KL. . In fact we told them that they were charging too cheap:)
It was clear, that Aames Ang being a young man, has the passion and drive to ensure that he only delivers quality food. We spent some time speaking to him and from what we gathered he has worked all around ( cruise ship, some parts of Europe, hotel in KL) to name a few. A very humble and friendly Chef and family.
We will definitely visit this restaurant again when we are in Penang the next time.
