Description: Kebaya is the diningroom of the Seven Terraces and is open to hotel guests and the public.Open daily, 7pm till 10pm.Christopher Ong has worked with the hotel’s chefs to create a menu of classic Indo and Straits Chinese Nyonya dishes. They have refined these using French cooking techniques and innovative produce to deliver surprising new twists on this already fascinating cuisine. The effect is simple, delicious full of flavour and dazzling.A four course degustation menu of entrée, main course, vegetables and dessert is served in Chinese style to allow guests to share the dishes. The Baba Bar is open daily from 2pm onwards, with live piano music in a very intimate setting.

“Great Kebaya”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2013

The service is personal, pleasant and detailed. The food is fabulous. It is not as expensive as I thought after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor. It is less expensive then like restaurants in Penang and on a par with the best restaurants in its class.

“Absolutely compulsory”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2013

If you are in Penang because you are fascinated by the Nyonya food and culture - you have to, absolutely must, dine at Kebaya. Actually you should stay at Seven Terraces ( stunningly gorgeous boutique hotel where Kebaya is located ) but I did not manage stay there this time so I shall review that next time I am in Penang.

Back in Kebaya, the food is superb - it is traditional Nyonya food with a fun twist. My parents are not into " fun twists" and they loved it.

I agree with the other reviewers, for the quality of food, service and the scrumptious surroundings ( I love the doors ) the prices are very reasonable and the general vibe of the restaurant convivial.

Pick up the phone and book a table.

“Delicious!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2013

We had a great meal here on Monday night. The staff did not rush us to order (we wanted to have a drink first) and we didn't find them to be hovering over us like previous reviewers have mentioned. It was a really busy night so the atmosphere was lively and if we needed something we were attended to promptly. We liked that we were allowed to have a break to finish our wine before moving onto dessert, there is nothing worse than feeling rushed. We opted for the pork bun and betel leaf entree, the mains were the pork and duck and for dessert we opted for the more Asian style desserts rather than playing it safe with the brulee and panna cotta. We are glad we did, the little coconut balls were amazing and I can't remember the other dessert apart from the fact that it was delicious. Our only regret?? That we weren't staying here, we stayed at E&O and next time we will definitely stay at Seven Terraces. We are Australian but live in Malaysia and found the prices to be really reasonable even for Malaysian standards. You can easily pay RM60 just for a main course in KL. Can't wait to come back and try different dishes!
