Kebaya is a bewitching inter play of the old and new. Challenging one's senses and preconceptions. What you see is old, what you taste is refreshingly new. Housed in a row of 1900s Strait Settlement shophouses, the exquisitely restored Seven Terraces is charmingly chic. The antiques and collectibles of old in Kebaya bring back the ambiance of refined nonya living of gone by days. The menu itself sounds familiar enough among the numerous nonya restaurants of today. However the taste is delightfully avant-garde. Kebaya's Loh Ark, duck confit infused with the flavours of plum and orange, is a good example of a classic nonya dish thoroughtly rethough, recooked and refined. The lamb Hong Bak, organic roast pork, Gula Melaka mousse and Tong Yuen are other memorable re-interpretations by Kebaya. Congratulations.
