TLWB did a good job of accommodating our party four plus pram/stroller with no fuss, as we were looking forward to eating here on our holiday after the good TripAdvisor reviews.
Overall, the meal and wine represents good value, especially when compared to Singapore, and the majority of dishes were quite good. The dishes that could be improved (only slightly) dont take away from the overall dining experience.
James (the sommelier) provided great service and provided great advice on the wine menu. If you are unfamiliar with French and European wines, he can certainly help.
Our party had shared entrees, and although the beef carpaccio was a little bit disappointing (the beef fell apart maybe from the freezing process, and could have benefited from nice fresh olive oil) apparently the chicken pate was nice.
I had the pork sausages for main and the sauerkraut was excellent and the pork was very tasty, but could have benefited from just a slight bit more salt or seasoning. But maybe im just being fussy.
i would certainly recommend the bourgogne chardonnay :-)
overall our bill for a bottle of wine, 2 entrees, 4 mains and 2 desserts was approx RM440.
i would certainly recommend TLWB to those visiting Penang.
