“Awesome place but walls a bit too thin!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2011

We checked in to Cozy Home Inn after we had issues sleeping on a really hard mattress in another inn.

Service here was great, rooms are affordable and it's located in a good area that doesn't have too much going on for it without being too far from the happening areas.

There's free drinking water and wireless WiFi, the rooms are clean and the inn has just been renovated due to a fire accident earlier this year.. the charred remains of it's neighbor which we could see from our room.

I agree on the muskiness of the room upon entering, so bring along an air freshener sachet (this has become a must on my every trip now!).

..-that's really it. The room smells of dumpness and the only way to get rid of the stench is by running the aircon on max.

The shower would benefit from any upgrade as the bare concrete just makes you think of a prison...

Next door karaoke den does not help in getting any sleep - especially with the wild screams at 1am

still - bedsheets are clean which is not always the case...

This guest house is next to some karaoke and night club so to be expected high volume of voice til 3am. Even if you close all the window, its still noisy in the room as the wall is thin as paper! TV never work in my home and I found that the bed is as hard as wood.
The Front desk is friendly and all the staff still are very helpful, Wi-fi works prefectly well, although the speed is slow.

Very friendly staff, they can help you on how to get around Georgetown & other surrounding. Don't worry about breakfast, there's a coffee shop just next to the hotel, for more variety you can walk 10-15 mins further away. For the room, I got myself a single bed with a cheap rate. And it comes with shower, air-conditioner, TV. Subtle for a night's sleep after sightseeing during daytime.

p.s. By the way, there's a new karaoke lounge/pub a few blocks away under construction, be prepared for some noise at night once it's complete.

Rooms were quite small, but clean and with air-conditioning and tv. Furniture is very basic and the bathroom is asian style. Sheets and towels were clean, walls had just been painted so still smell a litle bit like painting, but everything looked new (hostel is functioning for 1 year only).

Nice Hotel, good location, quiet. Short walk to everything. Room very small but pleasant, nicely decorated. They let us check in early, pleasant staff. Free wifi in the room. TV in room, but only Chinese stations. Electric pot in the room for tea or coffee is a great plus. No safe in the room, but hotel is secure.

We travelled to my hometown Penang for a visit recently during the school holidays. Stayed at Cosy Home Inn (found it online while searching for budget hotels). Great online details on how to find the hotel (street by street guide is really helpful). The place is obviously new from the looks of the fittings in the room. Nice clean beds, clean bathroom - simple set up, no frills.
Bottomline - value for money if you intend to have a place to shower & sleep since we did not hang around in the room during daytime.
Just a note - there is a karaoke place next door or at least a few doors down, you could certainly hear all the singing at midnight. So be weary that sleep may elude you until the singing stops.
