When you visit Penang, it's mostly all about food. New World Park Food Court offers a vast variety of local Penang food. From the Char Koay Teow to Mee Goreng to Ice Kacang (shaved ice). They may not be the best in Penang but the taste is relatively good!
Do give a few of these more unconventional delicacies a try:
1. Ice Kacang & Cendol
2. Kee-ya-koay, a traditional dessert which is yellow or green in color and to be eaten with melted brown sugar (sold at the Ice Kacang/Fruit Juice stall)
3. Yam cake
5. Chee Cheong Fun, the broad ttype of rice noodles flooded in sweet sauce, prawn paste and sesame.
6. Chinese dumpling (pyramid shaped and wrapped in bamboo leaves)
The place is much cleaner than many other food courts. You do see cleaners mopping the floor during off peak hours.
It's a huge space and very child and disabled friendly.
Most of the stalls are opened at lunch time through tea time. If you plan to have dinner there, do think twice as many are closed by 6pm.
