We travelled to Pangkor by bus from KL, arriving their we looked for a nice and homly place on the beach, we found Havana which is in Teluk Nipah area, it is not directly on the beach but across from the main roan. Mr. Lee, the owner, very friendly and kind person. The hotel has rooms with air-con, bath & toilet, tv, nice clean and comfortable rooms. We had initially thought of staying for 1 or 2 nights we ended up staying for 5 nights. They bring you breakfast on your front balcony, you choose from local Malay or English breakfast. The breakfast is not that great, you get scrambled egg with little bit of beans in tomatoe sauce and a very very sweet juice with tea or coffee. They do not have a restaurant so you need to go out to eat, which is fine coz you can walk down and there is plenty of choice. What impressed us was that being at Havana, the staff were so friendly, and looked after us as if we were their family, which was so nice and this convinced us to stay longer. Rates are always negotiable so make sure you ask for discounts. Teluk Nipah is a nice beach and you can find plenty of seafood to eat if you like seafood! Going to town as they call in Pangkor, is also nice, nothing much as in shopping, mostly t-shirts and such. VISA atm that is supposed to work at the Maybank, does not accept VISA card, hope they fix the ATM soon though, as otherwise you have to take the ferry to mainland to find an ATM. We hired a motor bike, cost at 40RM per day which was nice and you can ride the whole island in about 2 hrs max.
