“Good, Clean Hotel but Pricey”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2013

Situated next to the north-south highway, you can't miss it as you drive in.
Staff are friendly and do their best.
Hotel lifts are slow and can get hectic during morning and evening peak hour times.
Spotless hotel, extremely clean and fresh (i think it is only around 18 months old).
Rooms are fine.
Limited tv channels but there is free hotel wide wifi.
Breakfast is very basic Malaysian idea of a western breakfast buffet, standard Malaysian hotel fare. Giving it a miss wouldn't do you any harm.
Hotel is situated near many shops and food outlets so finding somewhere to eat is no problem.

I would give it a 4 but i have to mark it down due to the price.

Room Tip: Level 7 has a rooftop bar that can be very loud. Stay clear of the nearer levels.

We stayed at MH Hotels Ipoh for the 2nd time over the last weekend since our 1st check in one and the half years ago and we had a very good stay just like our previous stay..

The Hotel is definitely located in sort of a 'hotspot' which is around Ipoh Garden East ...you get everything nearby such as MC' Donalds, Petronas just next door, Tesco, Pelita Restaurant, coffee shops, car wash, eateries etc...its really great.. its also just off the highways to/from Penang and KL...

The Hotel rooms itself are pretty good...we stayed in the Executive Suite and its really spacious...a family of 4 would enjoy this space...the view of the Hills nearby and everything else was great too....the bathroom had a great rain shower and its generally very clean....

They have room service now with a simple variety of Malaysian favourites such as Mamak Mee, Nasi Goreng, Singapore Fried Mee Hoon (amongst others) and also Western favourites such as Chicken Chop, Lamb Chop etc... there's also a Traditional Reflexology outlet located on the 1st floor of the Hotel which was great for a quick 'reflexo' for our tired feet!...There's also the Sky Lounge at the 7th floor of the Hotel which is a great looking pub/restaurant with a partial open air concept and has a great view...

The indoor Car Parks however are pretty narrow ....or else, you can park your cars at the allocated bays just outside the Hotel which is also very convenient...Also to note that the Hotel does not have a swimming pool...

The Reservation Executive and the Operations Manager were also great and accommodating...they arranged everything for us via email and they are very efficient...

All in all, I would really recommend this Hotel ....in my opinion, its really one of the better hotels in Ipoh with a great location, available at very reasonable rates & we would definitely stay there again the next time we're in Ipoh!....

Sugu.

Room Tip: Checkout the Executive Suites and try asking for a company corporate rate... its worth it...

We were there for a weekend stay and they gave us a room on the ladies floor! It was a good room to be in as the whole floor was scented with a lavender fragrance, the room came with yukatas and the bed was big enough (king sized) for my family of 3. Beautiful view of Ipoh at night from my room!

Room Tip: Just make sure you check with reception on rooms availability

Conveniently located off the north south highway, you will not miss it in Ipoh. Small hotel , clean room, good shower , aircon and most important this era, strong wifi. Breakfast is included and the cafe is tiny with an egg station and bread n noodle. I did not try because I am in Ipoh and is a haven for food, be it breakfast, lunch, tea, dinner, supper. Yes, we always overeat in Ipoh. For the price you pay this hotel is just right and the hotel is always fully booked, so plan and book ahead. Indoor parking small and always full when we were back to the hotel late at night
Explore the surrounding , lots of food outlets and shoppings. When in your hotel room, lookout for the Giant Supermarket across the highway, this is another large suburb with endless food and shoppings. I did not eat in the hotel restaurant and in the evening during my stay in the hotel, there was a wedding dinner .

Booked this hotel online because I needed a family room for the three of us. They checked us in a room on the 8th floor. So on the first night, I experienced all the noise coming from the skylounge (on the 7th floor) even after midnight.

We promptly requested a change of rooms. So they moved us to the 14th floor the following day. So I must say the service personnel were quite accommodating. They even upgraded us to the executive room, which was much bigger, and charged us less. So on that score I was a happier guest.

The free breakfast that comes with the room, was mediocre, better to take a snack there then explore Ipoh town for better fare. For supper, I actually went 'next door' to the McD's.

There is no swimming pool at all much to my child's dismay. The spa is not part of the hotel.

The location is not too bad, close to entertainment, food and Ipoh town.

The views from the windows of the rooms were not too shabby (I was there when the Indonesian haze was in full swing and had even encroached Ipoh).

Room Tip: Try not to get the 8th floor, the noise (from the Sky Lounge) will keep you awake.

This review will be based on my visit to Skylounge, as I only dined there without staying. Food served at Skylounge was okay. The lounge is a great place to chill, however, the furniture settings were confusing. One side you have long big sofas to sit and chill, the other side you have garden round tables and chairs, while the other side you have long tables and chairs like those suitable for outdoor picnic. Maybe hotel wanted to serve to different clientele, but they really need think to define and be clear which type of clientele they are looking for. They have a great place, but all the settings are not right. The jazz player was quite entertaining though, however before he start, they had played several genres of music- jazz, 90s, pop, which were distracting. These were only my feedbacks, not complaints, as I believe if they get it right, they can attract more people.

Checked in one night into MH Hotel Ipoh. Finding it was a breeze. Follow the Ipoh exit and it's just beside the highway. Areas surrounded by pubs, night life, massage areas. MacDonalds just beside MH Hotel with a Petronas fuel station. About 5 min driving, you'll be able to find Jaya Jusco.

Now about the hotel - Got a Deluxe King room - 1602. There's a small door at the back which just didn't serve any purpose. I had to barricade that small door with the chair. Bed was comfortable. TV comes with Astro and Internet Wifi very strong signal. Bathroom - there was some sort of foul odour coming out of the waste drain so it was very uncomfortable. Comes with rain shower and toilet amenities was adequate.

The breakfast area - very small hall located at the 7th floor. Breakfast ?? Terrible.. the choices was limited, coffee was terrible and only 3 person manning the floor with one guy looking like a stupid guard asking for coupons as you enter. That guy was totally not helpful when asking about food etc.

Spa & Massage - there's one at the 1st floor but it was closed by the time we went at 7.30 pm.

Others - seafood restaurant beside. Food was average. If you need to find food, my advise would be to drive into town.

Room Tip: Don't go for 1602..
