“Nice and Peaceful Resort”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2013

Spent 2 night in this resort in Feb 2013. Very close to attraction such as Rainbow Waterfall and Panorama Hills. Well kept and tidy plus good customer service.

The RiverResort is about 30 Mins from Kuantan Exit and the roads leading to it can be lonely at times especially at night.

The restaurant and BBQ facilities was not available as there were very few guest at that point of time. Spotted a spider in the room but its a countryside anyway so it didn't really matter.

The first time i went to sg.lembing is like 10 years ago, but this time
decided to spend a night stay at lembing river view resort which located
just as you enter the arch sign of lembing town.

Managing your way to the hidden resort requires your patience to drive
through those narrow ways. especially when crossing the brown wooden bridge to get across
the river which only one car able to pass through at a time. so you gotta be patient and "que up".

check-in was breeze as any transaction is handle through cash, no credit card payments.

rooms in resort were neat and tidy. even the floors tiles are cleaner than my house.
our booked rooms are quad rooms, with 2 queen sized bed. beds are just nice, bathrooms comes with
water heater, no TV in room, but with dressing table.

the TV is available at the shared living hall with sofa seats.

giant black ants commonly appear at living hall and some bugs/insect in room sometimes.

we came on first day of CNY, so majority restaurant and shops at lembing town were closed and dinner at resort
were unavailable too.

there are 2 swings on the tree and hammock for your pleasure.

surrounded by greenery,it's one of the place for you to enjoy nature with a decent and clean
stay at this place.

Majority people staying here is to prepare the next morning to hiking at panaroma hill.

Room Tip: stock up your food and dine elsewhere

Cleanliness was OKAY, my friend did find ants in her towel and there were mosquitoes and lizards all around but I guess it was acceptable given the rural setting of this place. Bathing was not a problem, there was a heater and the air conditioning was perfect. So we did have a rather comfortable stay there. I personally enjoyed the swing a lot, spent a few breezy afternoons on it.

Lembing Riverview Resort is pricier than most, if not all accommodation options in Lembing and though my experience there was relatively pleasant I would conclude that it is not worth the extra buck.

Although rather nice and friendly, the lady at the resort was rather calculative, and her spirit of hospitality did pale when compared to the other residents we met in Sungai Lembing.

There was an incident on the third day when she approached us at the washing machine and sort of warned us that washing incurs charges and assured us somewhat sarcastically that she has been watching us and taking note of our washing counts. This took me aback as firstly, she told us that we can use the facilities in the house (which we assumed washing machine), and that she only informed us about the charges after we have been washing for two days. Her tone was not very friendly as well and I did remember feeling slighted by it. The next day, while we were having breakfast we met our guide to rainbow falls (who is the best guide, definitely recommended), we told him about our washing fees and he expressed shock at how exorbitant it is. If I remember correctly it was RM6 per wash.

Also, to all who are intending to stay at Lembing, please do not go for the BBQ dinners. It is expensive, the food is horribly unworthy of the money. Also, the lady told us it was a buffet style BBQ but what happened was they cooked a bunch of food, left them on the table, and then all left. So it was definitely not 'buffet' or free flow and what we expected was a long night of eating and chilling was cut short, and the guys had to stuff themselves with noodles to feel satiated. Furthermore, the food served was lacking in variety. There were a lot of noodles, corn and sweet potatoes, and a few plates of actual meat. I paid around 28Rm and only ate noodles, one chicken wing, some sausages, a few pieces of mutton, and a few shreds of sting ray. The sting ray was really pathetically lacking in meat, and the mutton was full of tendons.. Ok my main point is the BBQ was a huge let down to us. We had 16 people, so with this disappointing stanard of "BBQ Buffet" you can imagine the amount of revenue generated.

After communicating with the welcoming and friendly residents in Lembing, we have come to realize, judging by their reactions after telling them our place of lodging, that Lembing Riverview Resort is not the wisest choice of accommodation. It is considered to be expensive my the locals and I don't think that they are very well integrated with the small but tight-knit Lembing community.

Those aside, we were grateful for facilities like the volleyball court, table tennis tables and mahjong set, which we rented for our entire stay there. That was a rather useful perk as we had a large group of 16 and these help to feed our boredom in the afternoons and late at night.

I been to Sg Lembing twice in year 2011 & 2012 and Lembing Riverview Resort indeed always my first choice if visit the place again! Cleanliness is always my priority and not only the resort meet my expectation, but the hospitality given, staff friendliness are much appreciated. Although the room are more expensive than other hostel in Lembing, but it worth to spend overnight there. Do participate in the BBQ event if it is available (depends on the occupancy).

This resort is about 30km outside Kuantan city, tucked away in the countryside called Sungai Lembing (Lembing River). After getting to the Sungai Lembing town, one would continue to drive pass a cemetery hill and a few old rustic village houses before reaching the resort. At the resort, there are rooms located at the main building and a few chalets where each chalet has 4 individual room en-suite shower room. We stayed at the chalet room. Room was decent and basic for sleep. Nothing fancy. Water cooler machine is conveniently placed outside the room.Room at main building is bigger. There's no TV in the room. TV can be found at common area at the main building. The hotel has free wi-fi. The room is not sound proof. In a still night, you could hear lizard noise, wind from the spinning fan, and next door neighbor snoring. The resort is near the mountain/hill and next to the river. It is very scenic in the morning where you could see clouds enveloping the mountain/hill top. You can get plenty of fresh air, peace and quiet here, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The resort is not near the town, walking to the town may be a bit of a distant, estimated 15-20 minutes. We had own transport hence did not try walking to the town. Overall the resort is pretty well maintained, I can't fault this place. It's plan and simple. An ideal place for retreat to the countryside.

Room Tip: It's not near the town, hence stock up food for your trip. Get insect repellent.

the karaoke was going-on until 2.30am!!!

otherwise, the resort was strategically located by the river. Families with young children can enjoy water-play by the river bank when the river is low.

Rooms for family with 2 kids is rather small and tight but ample parking space.

roads to resort are narrow.

A nice little resort. We booked 6 rooms for the 12 of us for 2 nights. Rooms were very basic but very clean. I believe this is the best resort in Sg. Lembing!

Mr. Hoh the owner was very informative and gave a us a good summary (with photos to show) of the places of interest; namely the Rainbow Waterfall, Panorama Hill, etc. He also has the initiative to provide us with photostat copies of the map for Sg. Lembing & Kuantan. He even gave recommendations of restaurants in Kuantan. Kuantan is about an hour drive away and it will be a good idea to have dinner there as there is only 1 restaurant at Sg. Lembing. The food court opens from as early as 5.30am till about 2pm.

You can also try out the resort BBQ for dinner which we did on the 2nd night. The chicken wings & lamb was very well marinated. It was delicious but the portion was limited.

For us, the Rainbow Waterfall was a trip worthwhile. About an hour drive on 4 wheel and another hour of trekking to the falls was exciting. We had the waterfall all to ourselves as we were there on a weekday (Monday). Avoid going over the weekends or during public holidays as the place will be swarming with people. The RM40 includes a Maggi mee hot cup and a cup of coffee/milo. Do take along some snacks as you will be hungry after the trek. And please, please remember not to leave your rubbish behind. Take them out with you. Thanking you in advance for keeping the place clean and have a pleasant time there.
