“Entertaining and educational way to see Langkawi's mangrove forest.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012 via mobile

We picked an almost perfect day to take this great tour. Our guide, Ijan, was very friendly and knowledgable. Other boats were racing around the mangrove at rediculois high speeds but Ijan and our 'driver' took their time to stop and point out interesting elements and to explain them in great detail.

We'll definitely be back for a different tour and would recommend this to anyone.

“Fantastic experience - enjoyable for young ones too ...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012 via mobile

We weren't sure whether we had done the right thing to book the mangrove tour and were worried that a 3 hour boat trip for our 3 and 5 year old would be too much. Following advice from our hotel, The Andaman, We were so pleased we went for it. Our guide Daia was great ... Full of information, environmentally aware and relaxed with the children. Our boys loved it ... Our 3 year old was thrilled at being able to sit on the "Captain's" knee and driving the boat and our 5 year old loved feeding a sting ray and holding a sea urchin at the fish farm. We saw monitor lizards, fiddler crabs, bats in the bat cave, kites, eagles and of course the monkeys! It was great to have a stop off at both the fish farm and the bat cave - a chance to stretch the legs and keep the children's interest. The final treat was then speeding around the coast of the island back to the start point - the views of the coastline from the boat were absolutely stunning. Staying at the Andaman, with a great pool and amazing beach it would be easy to stay put and not go out, we were so glad we did explore and experience more of this beautiful island rich in nature.

“Great Mangrove Tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2012

My family and I had a great tour of the mangroves in Langkawi today. Our guide, Daia, was very good with insights on the history of this area, the species of the plants, animals and other living species in the area. The highlights of the tour included some colorful mud crabs, a group of swimming monkeys and eagles feeding off food brought by other boats. But what impressed us the most was her insights into how tourism is impacting the natural life in this area. Junglewalla is clearly a responsible tour operator. For example, they discourage their guests from feeding the wild monkeys as the food tourists bring may not be suitable for them (but they monkeys won't refuse them!). I would definitely recommend them to my friends.

“Stunning, Educational, Cool & Good Value For Money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2012 via mobile

The family (daughter 13 and son 10), had a great time today on the Mangrove boat Tour. Excellent (friendly, not pushy, knowledgeable) guide - DAIA. Very educational but also cool for the kids as well - they loved the fiddler crabs, the swimming monkeys, the kites and Sea Eagles, the bats and the Viper snakes. Four hours went by very quickly and given the time, the educational value and the cost it was VERY good VFM. Recommend!!!

“Great fun and very informative trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2012

We booked a boat trip around the mangroves through our hotel, The Andaman. Our guide was Daia, who we had also had on a forest walk around the hotel one evening, where we were lucky enough to see wild boar, flying lemurs and squirrels and bats. Daia is a great guide, very knowledgable and informative about local wildlife and plants and we were amazed at how much we learned on a short walk. We were very pleased to have Daia again on the mangrove trip, and we're not disappointed. It was a day of pouring rain but the boat was covered and in no way spoilt the day. We saw the local eagles and learned a great deal about the plant life and how it had adapted to such special conditions in this environment. Our kids loved the stop at the fish farm to see all kinds of fish, some huge! They especially enjoyed feeding the sting rays and handling horseshoe crabs, great fun. The bat cave was also very interesting and Daia once again gave lots of information about the bats in this area. The trip ended with a fun fast boat ride along the coast to see the full beauty and majesty of the rainforest from the sea. A fun family day out if you enjoy nature and want to learn more. Definatley recommend it. A big thank you to Daia.
