“Stunning, Educational, Cool & Good Value For Money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2012

The family (daughter 13 and son 10), had a great time today on the Mangrove boat Tour. Excellent (friendly, not pushy, knowledgeable) guide - DAIA. Very educational but also cool for the kids as well - they loved the fiddler crabs, the swimming monkeys, the kites and Sea Eagles, the bats and the Viper snakes. Four hours went by very quickly and given the time, the educational value and the cost it was VERY good VFM. Recommend!!!

“Great fun and very informative trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2012

We booked a boat trip around the mangroves through our hotel, The Andaman. Our guide was Daia, who we had also had on a forest walk around the hotel one evening, where we were lucky enough to see wild boar, flying lemurs and squirrels and bats. Daia is a great guide, very knowledgable and informative about local wildlife and plants and we were amazed at how much we learned on a short walk. We were very pleased to have Daia again on the mangrove trip, and we're not disappointed. It was a day of pouring rain but the boat was covered and in no way spoilt the day. We saw the local eagles and learned a great deal about the plant life and how it had adapted to such special conditions in this environment. Our kids loved the stop at the fish farm to see all kinds of fish, some huge! They especially enjoyed feeding the sting rays and handling horseshoe crabs, great fun. The bat cave was also very interesting and Daia once again gave lots of information about the bats in this area. The trip ended with a fun fast boat ride along the coast to see the full beauty and majesty of the rainforest from the sea. A fun family day out if you enjoy nature and want to learn more. Definatley recommend it. A big thank you to Daia.

“Awesome Tour Company”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2012

First off, thanks to Daia for showing us and teaching us the sights and animals around the Andaman and the Mangrove Trail. You truly know your wildlife and plants!!

Thinking of going on a tour in Langkawi? Try this company. They are the creme de la creme.

They showed us flying squirrels, flying lemars, wild boar and eagles. Such a magical experience!!

“A really great experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2012

We booked a 'private' tour at RM600 for the boat, guide, pick-up and return to hotel; started at 9am and arrived back at the hotel just before 3pm. Our guide Daia was lovely; very knowledgeable, friendly and struck just the right balance between being chatty and sitting back to let us take in our surroundings in peace. My two teenage daughters had a great time and genuinely enjoyed the experience, too.

The mangroves were fascinating, from the intricate ecosystems involved in their creation to the wildlife we were lucky to see ~ mudskippers, crabs, great hornbills, macaques, monitor lizards, Brahminy kites, white-bellied sea eagles, bright orange kingfishers and mangrove pit vipers. A special mention must be made of our boat skipper (unfortunately, I didn't think to ask his name) who had laser-sharp eyesight; he spotted the pit vipers curled up in the leaves of overhanging branches from hundreds of metres away... even when he pulled the boat up alongside and pointed, it took us ages to finally see the snakes.

Big thumbs up also to JungleWalla's eco-awareness and refusal to participate in things like feeding the kites/eagles ~ the chicken scraps which other tour operators feed the birds are loaded with chemicals and cholesterol, which is having serious effects on the birds' behaviour (they are getting too used to human proximity, and losing their natural instinct to hunt for their food) and health (eggs are becoming deformed and chicks are hatching too early to survive).

“Great experience!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2012

It was great experience for us to do kayaking through mangroove and see how mangroove grows in salty water. Also, the walk in jungle was the qwait experience!! Jumping into the river was very refreshing and reminded me the old days in my home town when I was around 11 yrs old.
