“Great Stay but Hotel Needs Some TLC”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

We had a great stay at this hotel and would recommend it. The staff's attitude was outstanding and helped us see past some of the details that the age of the hotel is starting to show. Make sure you enjoy a drink by the beach in the evening and catch the 'boaties' from the Marina next door. Being on the island was no problem. Trip across was easy but would recommend not leaving anyway.

Room Tip: Sea view from all rooms not too different

Firstly let me say this Hotel is below the flightpath of Langkawi Airport (not a very busy airport by todays standards) and watching the odd plane come over now and again did not bother me at all.The Hotel is what I would call frayed round the edges a little, and in need of some TLC in places, I have been on nicer beaches and the Restaurant is extremly expensive.
Now I have that out of the way the Holiday we have just had was by far the best ever and very simply it is all down to the Staff and the Service we received from them.
Nothing was to much trouble they are the friendliest and most helpful Hotel staff we have ever had the pleasure of meeting.
We have travelled extensively and met all standards of Hotel staff but the people who look after you on Rebak Island are by a long way the best.
The Island is itself a Tranquil laid back place extremley relaxed and just what is required for a quiet Holiday but if you want to get more adventerous that is only a short complimentary boat ride away on the main Island. We used this service extensively to go and explore.
We are planning to return next year for a longer stay.

Room Tip: Sea View Rooms have a more picturesque outlook but if you want to see the monkey's you will have...

We were here for our honeymoon.
The place is awesome, a lifetime experience.
(Romantic Place, Impressive location, service, hospitality, kiaking, biking, pool, TT, Gym, etc.)
Unmatched hospitality by hotel staff made us feel very special.
Hotel organized a lavish Beachside Candlelight Dinner for us with a personal Butler (Chargeable Service).
100%recommended !

We spend the best holiday there ever! If you like it quiet and romantic and dont miss action or to go to other restaurants than the same one every night this is the perfect place to have the perfect quiet and romantic holiday. We were there one year ago and inbetween had several other holidays on even nicer islands (Koh Phi Phi) with white sands and light blue water. To be honest:
None of the resorts could ever make it up to this resort. So nice staff, perfectly lonely and your privacy. Nice big room with great view.
There are several transfers (for free) to Langkawai during the day so you can escape Rebak Island. But the last ferry leaves the Langkawi harbor earlier than to dinner time. So no possibility to have dinner anywhere else. We did not mind as we booked halfpension.
They have the best breakfast I have had in my life and dinner was always great. Malaysian and Indian food was very spicey though but they had western food also.
Me and my boyfriend can highly recommend Rebak Island Resort!

Room Tip: Sea view and top floor is wonderful

We travel a lot and stay in Hotels about 35 to 40 nights a year. This is the worst ever, yes really, avoid at all costs. It is badly in need of refurbishment, dirty, smelly, noisy and badly managed. The Hotel is not served by public transport so you will be 100% dependent on the limited Taj transport on or off the island. Transfer to hotel from airport is quick, but the price you pay is being in the direct flight path, (a few hundred feet) of 20 or 30 jets a day using the airport. Our check-in was delayed by the noise of another Air Asia A320 Jet, the noise drowned out the conversation in the dark and dingy reception. Our superior room was very tired, badly maintained, mouldy bathroom and dimly lit. At twilight “ Mass Fogging “ or spraying of clouds and clouds of insect repellent did not reach our room, but I shudder to think what effect it has on the local flora and fauna. Top tip, dine at the Hard Dock café at the Marina, it’s a lot cleaner, and cheaper and the front desk organised a table for us.
This hotel is NOT 5 Star, it is barely a 2 Star, there are much better hotels in Langkawi at much, cheaper prices.
We checked out early and asked for a part refund, the embarrassed management gave us a REFUND IN FULL.
Even the poor Monitor Lizard wished it was someplace else.

Room Tip: Dine at the Hard Dock cafe, at the Marina, its a lot cheaper and good menu. Better still, stay somew...

Of course it was honeymoon for us! :)
Very quiet and place where one could relax happily. Breakfast was too good!!!
We enjoyed a lot in spite of heavy rain when we traveled. A complimentary red wine was given. My husband enjoyed it a lot.. Ours was sea facing room. Boat ride from rebak island to langkawi main island was real fun. Night ferries were available. We traveled during Aug 2012.. My best trip ever!!!!

Room Tip: Just go for sea facing room.. Awesome!!!

The rooms are amazing and so cleen and big, try to book the sea view one. Staff are extremely friendly, the restaurant is expansive but the food was excellent.
As the hotel located in an island, nothing to do but relax.

Totally recommend this hotel for couples who want relax and enjoy the quit place.

Room Tip: book the sea view room. it worth the extra money
