“Great experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2013

Rebak island is a great experience . This private island shares its land with a beautiful yatch club which adds to the experience.the rooms are nice and the private beach facing a little island is beautiful. Te staff is friendly and would you believe they advised me to use the mini store to stock the mini bar rather than encouraging expensive minibar. Its a perfect holiday experience.

“An Experience in Itself”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2013

We spent first 3 days of honeymoon at taj Rebak island resort. We were hooked to the place becuase the property was very well developed , tastefully done rooms, extremely friendly and always smiling staff. The food on A'la Carte was brilliant, the breakfast buffet though was slightly underwhelming. That's quite possible because we were not accustomed to western taste. The indian food is amazing.
We organized a private dinner on the beach, and even that was a lot of fun, a complimentary cake, singers singing romantic songs and a personal waiter, made the evening memorable for us.

Room Tip: Take Superior Sea View Rooms, they are ideally placed with a great view, and more serene.

“Nice Indian food and lovely sailing to Taj Ask for ferry schedule”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013 via mobile

If you want to try an Indian food I suggest you Taj hotel
I didn't stay at Taj but I went there for having Indian food
You should park your car in a little port and from there there is free ferry to take you to Taj hotel.
You should be there at exact time otherwise they will charge you 120RM
Food was great there and also you can have sailing...

“Hospitality comparable to none!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2013

The Taj group of hotels pride themselves on their hospitality and that was well proven at the Rebak Island Hotel. The staff are courteous, and friendly and make you feel soo welcome right from the time you land. However, some of the rooms are not to a five star standard and could do with some refurbishment. The location is stunning though and the beach is fabulous.

“Relaxation in Langkawi”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2013

We have recently returned from a lovely 14 day relaxing stay at the Taj Exotica, due to various conflicting comments regarding this resort I will try to give my honest opinions as to the pros and cons for the resort.
The first thing I would like to comment on is, like other people have mentioned, the Taj is not a 5* resort, I wont go into detail as to why this is so but anyone who has stayed at a true 5* resort will know the reasons why. Although the resort is not 5* I would still recommend this beautiful island resort as it is a lovely place to stay and relax.
Pros.
Very large rooms most with stunning views.
Lovely beach area, plenty of shaded sun loungers available.
Excellent food, reasonably priced. ( paying on average between £20 to £40 for a meal for 2, including drinks). There is only one restaurant on the resort but the choice of food is varied and all of excellent quality) They also have themed buffet evenings where the quality of the food was also exceptional
The fish bar at the resort (open until 4:oopm)serves the best Sea Bass we have ever tasted.
The Resort staff are the most friendly and helpful people we have ever met. A special mention goes to the one of the beach boys, Anwar, his efforts in assuring we had a relaxing time while on the loungers was superb, we wanted for nothing, he has an uncanny knack of knowing when you are in need of refreshment such as a glass of iced water or a Tiger beer etc.
Electrically operated trucks will transport you to any area of the resort you desire.
Most of the water is free and you are supplied with a vast ammount of complimentary bottles
Cons.
When you first arrive at the Resort you are forced to have a substantial ammount of money (approx. £700 for a 14 day stay) debited from one of your credit cards which is not reinbursed until approx. 2 weeks after you have settled the account at the end of the holiday ( even if you have not booked anything to your card during your stay,as was the case with us)
The information given to you by the resort is very poor. eg. You are not told that there are return ferrys from Langkawi at 10:30 and 11:45pm.
We were not informed that happy hours exist at two of the bars during the evening where drinks are half price.
We were not informed that there is a shop on the resort which enables you to purchase snacks and beer if you choose to do so.
The resort is directly below the flight path of the airport so you will have planes passing overhead throughout the day. ( although this did not bother us in the slightest.)
Renovation of a Beachfront room occured throughout our stay, grinders, drills and sanders all in operation throughout the day, making it extremely noisy at times.
I would definately recommend this resort for a stress free relaxing holiday.
Best Langkawi restaurant :- The Cliff.
Best Spa attended. :- Ishan Spa.
Best excursion. :- Stardust Island hopping cruise.
Car hire definately recommended, very inexpensive ( approx £10 for the day) and very safe.
Visit to the Cablecar and Skybridge a must. ( if weather clear )

Room Tip: Request a seaview room and you will not be disappointed.
