“One with nature - water on one side, tropical forest on the other!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013

After our rather bumpy ferry ride from Penang we didn't know what to expect next. We were taken aback when we drove into the Berjaya premises. Feel good experience through and through. Our little transport from the reception to our room through the tropical greenery was refreshing. The room, especially the bathroom looked a bit tired. The staff at the reception was a helpful bunch. 2 incidences - helpful when I needed first aid for a cut on my knee and when I lost my suitcase key. It was a very busy time of the year and I understand that matters can get hectic but when trained staffs handle their guests with grace and a smile - it makes a holiday even more memorable. A definite plus was the refreshing room. We had checked out in the morning but our flight back home was late in the evening and it's a good 11 hr flight! The refreshing room was a blessing where we had a shower and basically took a deep breath before heading home. Good shower, fresh towels, cuppa coffee all for free. Our only regret - should have stayed on longer.

My fiancée and I came here for two nights during our tour around Malaysia and were amazed by it (for me, it was my favourite place of the trip).

We stayed in a rainforest view chalet - we could not have wanted more. It was an individual chalet deep in the forest with a balcony overlooking it all. It was clean, new and had all the facilities you might want. The shuttle service between the main complex and our chalet was fun and easy to arrange (simple call from the room and they were there within a few minutes) and there was plenty of wildlife to spot.

The main pool and beach were fantastic, a selection of restaurants to choose from and parking was free.

My only complaint was that the complimentary wi-fi was barely usable from our chalet and is something Berjaya should look in to.

Room Tip: Rainforest chalets are the cheapest but have fantastic views - make sure you get one with a balcony...

Stayed at Berjaya Hotel 22nd September for 5 nights. The location is 2nd to none. The rainforest views are spectacular. The staff are lovely, the Beach Restaurant is fantastic, with amazing views onto the beach and the food is also fantastic. The Thai restaurant on the jetty is ok. The menus are shabby but the food was pretty good. The hotel although spread out has a great feel about it. The public areas are bit dated but the rooms are great. Overall as far as value for money is concerned it is amazing. I wouldn't call it luxurious but it has everything you want.

The Stay at Berjaya Beach Resort Langkawai was awesome because of the following Reasons : The Berjaya is huge means u have to travel through their small carts to reach your room beacuse they had given the complete concept of Rainforest where you would enjoy Swimming having drinks enjoying beach activities & also Pool enjoyment which is must. The main attraction to this resort is also the Cable car which is just adjoining to this resort means a simple Walking Distance to Oriental Village from where the cable car would take you to Langkawai Bridge where DON movie was shot. They had 4-5 options of resturants to Dine In & also for Indians they had lot of Options no issue to it. Pricing is Bit Costly in Berjaya but as far as Service & Rain Forest effect you can spare to have that. Kua town is also far off from Berjaya means a 40 minutes drive through Taxi which they can easily make you available at reception desk.
Overall the experience is Great & one can Relax & would surely Stay in Berjaya to Enjoy your Relaxed Life & Time.

Room Tip: Basic is also Good No issue of spending a Huge Amount on Room ....

It was the perfect resort after our busy stay at KL.
Six of us including a child arrived in the in the morning and our rooms was not ready, Check-in welcoming could be made better. Instead of finding a solution to our problem, we were told it will be chargeable. Finally after careful thinking, they realised they were on the wrong, to correct the poor service and rooms not being ready they sent us fruits and apology letter. Follow up calls were made to ensure all was OK.
Shuttles service is great, the staffs are friendly and with a smile they serve. During busy time (Rush hour), waiting time can be longer, that’s expected in any area of the world, walk to the lobby, there are shorts cuts, its fun walking.
Breakfast area can be improved, staffs needs to smile. During sunny morning, discomforting sun glare can be a problem. Blinds needs to be installed to avoid this issue.
Some area lack of good service with a smile, but other areas made up for it. Must try the Thai restaurant, excellent service, great food and very friendly manager (Prem) at Thai restaurant.
As a whole the Thai Restaurant service with a smile made up all the errors.
We will certainly go back.

The Berjaya Langkawi is a 5 star resort located at Pantai Kok, about 12 km's from Pantai Cenang and a little less from Langkawi's airport. Because of its design, tucked into the jungle clad hillside on the edge of a beautiful bay, you don't feel that you are in a large resort. However it does sprawl, although there is a regular shuttle service around the complex if you don't want to walk. Accommodation is in traditional style, wooden bungalows, in a series of different settings, each carrying a different price tag, from jungle without sea view all the way to bungalows on stilts over the water. It has all the facilities you would expect of a 5 star resort - spacious, well appointed rooms with verandas and day beds, a choice of good restaurants, pool with swim up bar, tour desk etc. etc. If you are looking for instant available night life, Pantai Cenang will be more to your taste. However the Berjaya is not totally isolated, though you could be forgiven for thinking so from your veranda, as the Langkawi Cable Car and tourist shopping centre is within walking distance, while Telga Harbour Park, an under-used yacht marina and shopping centre are not much further away. The staff are universally helpful and friendly. However in some areas the Resort is showing its age and is in need of refurbishment. Some of the public area footpaths are cracked and broken and a concrete area beside the main breakfast restaurant almost looks abandoned. One of the joys of the Berjaya is its jungle setting, but some of the formal garden areas could do with weeding and a general tidy up.

Room Tip: If you don't crave being over the water, a superior jungle room with water views gives you the b...
