“Good experience with The Cliff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2013

We have learnt about this testaurant from Tripadvisor and decided to check it. It is a popular place in Cenang, which requires reservations and offers a nice selection of food and wines.
Unlike many other restaurants in Langkawi, The Cliff has a really good service from the start till the end.

With the mains they offer you a free glass of white or red house wine (though if you order a bottle at the begining - like us, you may not get your free glass)

The ambiance after dark could be nicer (an unpleasant ceiling light, no candles or small lamps to make it more romantic).

Worth trying!

“Dreadful first experience”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2013 via mobile

My first time here tonight and was very disappointed. 1. I was halfway through my seafood dinner and realized it was raw for the most part. Sent it back and worrying if my tummy was going to react to it badly, it came back after 25 minutes with the chef apologizing but gave me an unacceptable reason, "miscalculated the time needed to cook the fish". So my freshly cooked fish came back cooked but portion was halved! Then I found another raw item, the scallop. I spent 1hour waiting for my food and ended up feeding mosquitoes. The manager was a very kind man. Unfortunately, I will not be going back anymore.

“Amazing food and service!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2013 via mobile

My mum and I stumbled upon this restaurant tonight and were pleasantly surprised. The food was gorgeous- we had two fish dishes and the flavours were beautiful. The service was excellent, particular thanks to Rosli for getting us a lovely table!... We are coming back at the end of our holiday. Only thing we would say is that the atmosphere would improve greatly if the setting was candlelit rather than bright lights, it would make the evening truly perfect!

“Food with a View”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2013

Had lunch at Cliff Restaurant the view was fantastic. The food was beautifully presented with just the right amount of spice. The service was good with cheerful, helpful staff. The beer was the coldest I've had in Malaysia. 3 dishes and beers and wine came to 211 RM. A great place to dine, a must visit in Langkawi.

“Higher end of eating on Pantai Cenang”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2013

Located in the center of Cenang beach, right next to the Underwater World, the Cliff is at the finer end of the dining options on Langkawi. The restaurant is built on a rocky cliff that cuts the beach in two, and most of the tables have a good view to the sea, the unblocked sunset horizon, and the misty Gunung Machinchang and its top station lights - even the toilet lobby has sea view.

The menu has both local dishes and western dishes. We had local style beef dish which was very tasty, but compared to "true" local food not spicy at all. This with two sorts of rice, seafood soup and a dessert cake (birthday wishes included!), with a bottle of wine and irish coffee, we created a bill of 170 Rm per person. All plates were beautifully presented and very tasty.

Service was speedy and friendly, also our english was mostly well understood. Toilet section is fancy and clean with, seats designed for both asian and western operation.
