“Still okay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

This hotel is located stone throw away from the main street, making it a plus to access to shops, eateries and Cenang beach. I stayed at a west facing stand-alone bungalow end Oct-2012. I noticed this place is not as noisy as other reviewers mentioned; perhaps the construction has been suspended. The room is clean, which I guess because it is still new and hopefully this place will be well maintained. To me, room rate is a bit pricy as compared to other hotel with same amenities in neighborhood countries.

Room Tip: If possible please avoid to request for extra mattress, the mattress is not comfortable and with unp...

Overall recommended stay for the price and location, not too bad for the price I paid. Attached bath with shower amenities located opposite the beach. Stayed in the cabin style rooms and nothing much to complain except stuffy room when returning in the evening. Cenang beach is just 5 minutes stroll away.
Comfy bed, adequate cable TV, coffee/tea making facilities, daily room cleaning, coway water dispenser. Strong WiFi is a definite selling point!
Many restaurants nearby, Red Tomato (average), TJays (awesome pizza), Orkid Ria (tiger prawns) can be reached by foot. Avoid Breakfast Bar as it is nothing special. McD directly opposite the hotel is good for breakfast.
Good duty free shopping at the Zon and Coco Valley opposite the hotel. Liquor prices cheaper in Coco Valley but it closes earlier at 6.30pm (9pm for the Zon).
We didnt need any car rental as tours included transfers and we only hired taxis to/from airport which costs rm18 per way.

Not as good as on the review..the best part is the strategic location. The young receptionist didn't help much and on my second day there, they didn't clean the bathroom. No telephone on the room, so it's hard when the rain comes and want to call the staff.

Room (chalet) with attached bathroom, TV and basic amenities.
Location is good, right opposite Underwater World and The Zone Duty Free Shop.
Nice environment, green & comfortable.
Might need to wait a little longer during check-in if there are many people as there are only 1-2 staff working.

Great hotel. The rooms are like little semi-detatched cabins with a good size porch with a table and chairs to sit on. The room is spacious, modern and very clean.

It is in agreat location for the beach, bars, restaurants and tour guides.

Staff were helpful and friendly.

However! There is a massive apartment block being built right next door. There is building work and the noise to go with right through the day. Also the second night we stayed here the builders were working until mightnight! Not just little bits of work, they was using cranes, heavy machinery and shouting. We complained to reception and found out several other people had complained in that same hour. Reception said they would phone the construction company and find out what is going on. They did, and knocked on our door an hour later being very apologetic (even though we now it is not their fault) and said the building work would stop around midnight.

One of the best things is right at the start of the driveway to reception is a brilliant little cafe called The English Tea Room. Amazing food and the owner Annette was very friendly, helpful and gave us lots of adive about tours and the island itself.

Would of gave 5* if it wasnt for the building work. Would stay here again if the builders weren't there but wouldn't run the risk of builders working till all hours again if they was.

Room Tip: Dont stay here until the builders are gone.
