“Slightly above average experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013

Since I travelled solo, most places tried to sell me on paying for the entire boat for $250RM. Wasn't gonna bite. All the places visited asked me to come back the next day to see if they could group me into a larger group. Hm... forget it. I left.

Drove around and found a place (near Pantai Tanjung Rhu) where there were two tourists already waiting for a 3rd party to share the cost.

paid $50RM for a 1.5 hour ride.

1st stop - fish feeding... tourist trap IMHO. It was more of a floating seafood restaurant.

2nd stop - eagle feeding.... i was more depressed than impressed. Why are the eagles being fed? Shouldn't they be looking for food on their own?

3rd stop - crocodile cave (or allegiator cave). warning, there are no crocs. it's just the name. Passed by an interesting site, "Hole in the wall."

4th stop - bat cave. you can choose to pay 1RM for a flash light. Pay it unless you are gifted with night visions. The place smells like bat dong. Along the way, you may see a few wild monkeys. Right before you exit the last cave, you'll see a sign that warns you about a snake. Not sure if it's really there or just to scare off the tourists.

As we were heading back to Pantai Tanjung Rhu, you'll probably pass by a sign that says, Kilim Geoforest. If your mobile phone is on with a Malay sim card, beware, you may be switched to a Thai mobile carrier at the open water.

Overall, a pleasant experience.

“Highly enjoyable, with a great guide”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013 via mobile

Pros:
-Guided boat cruise
-I saw monkeys that can swim and dive, sea eagles and kites dropping for food, a monitor lizard, a brown-winged kingfisher, plenty of mangroves and a pod of dolphins.
-Stopped off at a fish show and saw rays, giant grouper, puffer fish and angler (spitting) fish, horseshoe crab amongst others.
-Also stopped off at a cave full of bats, a toad plus a thrush in a nest. Could see the Thailand coastline in the distance.

Cons:
-A little disorganised on arrival at the jetty, as wasn't sure which boat we were on.
-Numerous boats and other tourists.

“AB watersports - a great day”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2013

Another fantastic tour. My parents, husband, children (12, 10 & 5yrs) and I all enjoyed this tour thoroughly. It took a while to get there (over 1/2 hr drive there and back) but definitely worth it. We were well prepared with food, sunscreen and mosquito spray so could sit back and enjoy the trip. Make sure you leave your bags on the boat when you get to the bat cave - the monkeys are very aggressive and not at all afraid. We saw a few people have things taken out of their backpacks (while they were on their backs!!!). Very interesting things to see and great value for money.

“Mangrove Tour”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2013

Incredible tour through the Mangrove Woods of Langkawi. We saw lot's of wildlife, incl. Snakes, Monitor Lizards, Birds, Bats, Fish....the only drawback was the Fish Farm at the end where they pull and bother fish out of their environment to show tourists....

“Must do tour- Speed boating in River & Andaman Sea with Nature”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2013

We were in Langkawi for 2 days. We have taken a call for Mangrove Tour over Island Hopping Tour. And it was amazing and memorable time spend. You can hire your individual speed boat. We paid 350 Myr Ringgit for 2 hours tour. It includes visit to Bat Caves, Farm Fishing, Eagle Watching, River Cruise, Crocodile Cave, Cruise to Shoe Island in Andaman Sea. Shared boats are also available. Reach there before 3pm. The tour is conducted in Kilim Geoforest Park. Experience the wonders of nature at Langkawi’s coastal mangrove forest. Trek the forest reserve via boat and learn all about its ecology, medicinal plants, migratory birds and admire the natural beauty of the overhanging Bogak tree, tree crabs, macaques and unique limestone formations, just to name a few. Going into Crocodile Cave in boat and High speed boating in Andaman sea is thrilling.
