“No Credit Card”

Quick review:
Everything is good, cute place, good service, it's a bit hard to get there and remember to bring cash

This is a family business and if you go there expect some waiting. ( and it's all worth it). This was a very hard restaurant to find it was kind of in the middle of nothing but it was peaceful and that gave a good atmosphere.

We were served by Jimmy's Daughter (jimmy is the owner). She was the sweetest thing, just like her father 'polite and good service skills.

We got the menu and you could have unlimited drinks which was a very good thing. The bad thing about that was that I found an ant in my drink which was not very pleasant, but these things happen all the time to every restaurant.

The food was all very good but I think that the price was a bit over exaggerated and worse of all they didn't accept credit cards which made it hard to pay. But then the owner Jimmy said we could pay another day so all was good.

In conclusion everything was great but just remember to bring cash

“Must Try, Not To Be Missed...!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2014

We wanted to visit this restaurant during our holiday in Langkawi as it was highly reviewed by TripAdvisor. It is located in the midst of a paid field, overseeing the field when you dine. It took us about half an hour to locate the place and we were shocked to see the restaurant was closed (lunch time). However there was a note pasted on the entrance..."The restaurant is opened, please call.....", and we called the number. Within 5 mins, we saw a guy riding his motorbike approaching the restaurant and he's Jimmy - the owner/chef of the restaurant (super friendly guy).

We asked for his recommendation as there was no menu available (except for some menus scribbled on the blackboards in the restaurant) and he offered a set lunch package for 2 pax (Samosa for appetiser, Fish Marsala, Beef Rendang, Mixed Vegetables with White Rice for main course and Mango Kulfi for dessert). The fish was so fresh and the beef was super tender, everything just blended in nicely. It was my first time having a very delicious and yummy Fish Marsala and Beef Rendang; and I still miss these dishes when I look at the pictures.

Overall it is a restaurant that one should not miss in Langkawi.....!!

“Hidden Gem In The Padi Field”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2014

It is the first visit with surprise and wonderful experience.
Although it is located at the urban location but worth it.
I highly recommended you may be there around 6pm to enjoy the sunset view before your lovely dinner.
It is a home base business with great service. There is no menu to choose but the chef daily recommendations, according to him there is around 200 recipes! !
The price is not cheap but it is worthy.

“Thank you Jimmy and Pia!”

We were 'the family without gadgets'! Great food, amazing views (especially at sunset) and most important a beautiful family serving us. A very special time that will stay with us always. Thank you!

“Overrated reviews!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2014

We are frequent travellers to Langkawi and this time around my husband's niece and her husband came along with us. At the airport, as usual, we were handed maps and places of interest to see and in the midst of all these, was a photostat copy of reviews in Tripadvisor on Pia's The Padi, which we haven't been before. I called and made a reservation for four pax for dinner and we drove there. The signage was quite small and off the main road in Ulu Melaka. My heart sank as we arrived there, it wasn't well maintained and weeds were overgrown in the planter boxes. Jimmy, the owner and chef came to inform us that there was no menu as he has a package that costs RM75, which includes free flow of drinks from his drink menu. We are Malaysians, basically what he serves is Indian curries, to us his curries are nothing to shout about! We have curries that are so much tastier than what he serves and we aren't charged the exorbitant price that he charges and we definitely won't be forced to take a package! We can deduced that he cooks these few items only and the guests are 'advised' to take the package! The only thing I can give credit to this place is the sunset view and the free flow of drinks! We weren't impressed, in fact we felt short changed and we definitely won't be back to this restaurant. Please note that there is a 10% service charge as well and he takes cash only.
