I stayed at the end of May in one of the studio serviced apartments without a TV and with view of the pool. Chogm Villa is really conducive to relaxation and attracts a community of nice people (and I really didn't want to watch TV!). The flat was recently renovated to western standards, fresh and bright. I loved to step outside on the terrace in the morning to smell the garden. A monkey came for a stroll around the pool during my stay. A reminder that the jungle is nearby.
The free wi-fi connection was very useful.
On Robin's (host) recommendation I did a Mangrove tour with Dev's Adventures which he organized for me on the spot. I was picked up at the door by a taxi the next morning. The logistics was very easy and I had a good time. Robin was a great source of information and was always available to help.
I chose not to hire a car and Robin dropped me off at the airport in 20 minutes, no traffic. This was a nice touch. I found overall the experience of staying there very enjoyable.

We stayed as a family of 14 people ranging in age from 14 - 70 years in three of the apartments which were all superbly appointed. The facilities made us feel at home right from the start. We had everything we needed in the apartments and it was great to be close by to each other. Our hosts, Rob and Robin were a lot of fun, a great resource for local knowledge and for the best places to eat in town and we really enjoyed when they were able to join our family for dinner. CHOGM Villa has a wonderful pool area for relaxing. We were close to town and the shopping centres which made self-catering very easy though we usually dined out at night. A great experience is to attend a local night market, and indulge in some of the local cuisine as it's cooked right there in front of you.

At the beginning of May 2010 I stayed with my daughter, her fiancie and a friend for six days, and we had the most wonderfull stay.
Firstly the manager, Robin, contacted us both by text message and phone prior to our arrivel, and he also arranged pickup at the airport - not to mention free of charge.
Arriving at the apartment we were setteled in by house keeper, Kate, who also within 15 minutes of our arrival arranged a hired car to be delivered at a very resonably cost and took care of all the paper works.
The apartment, a first floor two bedroom, is very nice, clean, bright, and have all you need for a pleasent stay - including lots of towels for you visit to the large, very clean pool.
We wanted an apartment as close to the pool as possible, at the pool was litturaly at our doorstep. Just a few steps, and we were able to be cooled of.
Upon our departure, Robin also provided transportation to the airport - and he even took care of a parking ticket we got the day before our departure.
I would most definately be back - and would advice you to pick this location, if you plan to stay at Langkawi.

Chogm Villa, with it's beautifully appointed self contained apartments, is the perfect alternative for those wanting something different from what hotels and resorts offer. The personal attention offered by Rob and Robin cannot be faulted, always helpful and attentive without ever being overbearing. Our family had a holiday of a lifetime , and I would return to Langkawi and Chogm Villa in a heartbeat. Absolutely.
