“The Hotel With The Worst Phone Operator”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2013

We stayed here for 2 nights . Arrived at 230 pm and the rooms were not ready yet . The receptionist promised they will be ready in 30 minutes . When we came back an hour later , they failed to keep the promise..Got upgraded rooms ,thank you .
The rooms are large and clean . The old bulky CRT TV really irritates since most of the hotels now provide flatscreen TV .The TV reception was very poor , no local channels available. I complaint to the operator and and she mentioned already notified the maintenance guy to rectify . I observed the maintenance guy really struggled to rectify the problem but nothing solved when we came back at night after dinner.
When i make another complaint , she mentioned the whole floor had problem with the booster .I went to the next room (since we booked 2 rooms on the same floor) and enjoyed the local channel with crystal clear reception . My advice to your operator is that please double check that your guest does not book more than 1 rooms on the same floor so that u can confidently be a complete liar .
The rest of the hotel service would be considered as average.Free parking also provided with separate elevator where you spend ages waiting for the elevator .

The check-in process was hassle free but the lobby setting was quite tired and definitely needs a refurbishment. Car park lift is seperated with lobby lift which is not so convenient. Room was large and well appointed. Breakfast was ok with selection of local food only.

Room Tip: will recommend to travellers

I spent three night(not continuously), the hotel rooms are not bad. I only used breakfast in the hotel. The food was delicious, same as a hotel in KL. The egg...well, you know...and you'll see. It's big and easy to tear.

The hotel is meant for tour groups ! Everything was old and u kept, rooms stale and smelled of smoke, blankets looked 20 years old! Bathrooms also broken down, elevators had only 1 out of 3 elevators working!!! Free breakfast was the worst, only could eat the toast, coffee watered down. Indoor pool was freezing! WIFI didn't work, go to another hotel if possible. Donor recommend.

TV was old tube type of TV. I also scheduled a wake up call at 6:00 am, but never got it, woke up 30 minutes before our tour was was going to leave for the airport. I pissed. Te pictures on the Internet are probably whee they first built this place 30 years ago.

Room Tip: Get a good room by staying somewhere else.

I don't find this hotel value for money. I think with the money I spent on this hotel, can be spent on a much better hotel. Some parts of the hotel has been refurbish whereas some parts are still the same. We were unlucky to get the room that was not refurbish.

Stayed here for a night and that was enough. Check-in & check-out was slow, housekeeping did not refill the complimentary tea & coffee tray, no slippers, no toothbrush, no comb, TV is old and as I was using the toilet a baby cockroach walk pass me,twice!! Once in the morning and another the next day. Bed was just normal and they have ironing board and steam iron outside each floor for customer to iron their own shirt. It's the first time I see such thing in a hotel. I usually see this in backpackers hostel, not a hotel. Swimming pool look a little murky. and breakfast was just ok. The furniture in our room is old fashion and so does the sofa cushion in the lobby lounge, such lousy quality for a hotel this standard.

This hotel accommodate lots of government function, big tour groups and family. The room is very large and can fit a family of 5. Great for big groups but I find it not suitable for honeymooners. If you're hungry not to worry. There's plenty of restaurant & eatery area just outside the hotel. Location is quite central in the city and it's approximately 10minutes drive to Woodland Immigration. Staff is pleasant and helpful. However, I would not go back again to this hotel.

Stayed here for 3 occasions. The room was very big, clean with nice scenery. Tv is old with bad reception and lift also takes a very long time to come. Beside that the rest were very satisfying. Staff were very friendly & helpful especially the receptionist. Breakfast were ok and dont expect too much. Dont mind to stay here again on my next trip.

Room Tip: Book early

Have stayed in New York Hotel for more than 5 occasions. This time round we Rented 2 adjoining triple deluxe family rooms at about SGD100 per night @ with breakfast. Local breakfast spread was so-so. The rooms were large and clean with a queen-size & one single bed. One of the room also had a sofa-bed while the other room was complete with sofa seatings. One of the 3 lifts is still under maintenance while the other 2 seemed like they will break-down anytime. The indoor pool on the 11th floor is not as clean as i would like for the kids to play in but the jaccuzzi is great! Although the Wifi was weak in the rooms, the sevice was prompt and efficient! The lobby, restaurant & pool have the strongest signal.

Room Tip: 'Arani' Car polish right opposite the hotel is both fast, clean & efficient! MYR180 for...
