This hotel was very reasonably priced and overall I was quite happy with it. I found the staff very helpful, my room was reasonably spacious, adequately clean and all the facilities worked as they should. This is not a luxury hotel, but it does what it does well enough.
Two things would make a big improvement - double glazing, since the hotel is near a busy road interchange, and railway line, so gets a lot of traffic noise. Also a stronger wifi signal - I could only really use it near the door to my room, and then only with 1-2 bars only. However, the wifi is free, and adequate for collecting and responding to emails on a smartphone.
I thought the breakfast was good - a local rather than western selection, and some things I was not really familiar with, but it all seemed tasty and there was plenty of it - my only comment would be they could do with a toaster that's a bit faster.
A tip as regards breakfast - most of the guests during my stay seemed to be on coach tours, which departed around 8am from the hotel, hence breakfast was extremely busy between 7-8am, so for a more peaceful experience, don't go for breakfast until after 8am!
The hotel is well placed for JB city centre, and walking distance from the City Square / Sentral / CIQ complex, also only a block away from Kotaraya Bus Station, and a somewhat longer walk up to Danga City Mall.
The free Straits Times seemed to disappear for the last two days of my stay - no explanation of to what happened.
Overall, a pretty good experience for the money.
