“I really miss this hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2012 via mobile

Needed a short getaway not too far from home. Wireless internet was essential as it was a trip planned to get some work done too.

Boyfriend combed the immediate vacinity around the customs and found this hotel. One of the tallest hotel in the area. The hotel apparently is popular among some wealthy people as we saw many big cars parked in front of the hotel lobby.

Paid a little more for a suit that comes with a little pantry and living room. The pantry was well equipped with an en suite of cutlery and a dinning table. A huge rotating flat screen TV divides the bedroom from the living room. A down side for such an amazing suite was the lack of bath tub in the toilet.

The location of the hotel was fantastic. A short 10min drive leads you to great eating places. Taman Sentosa is around the corner. We particularly like this location as it was pretty centralized from the food places that we had wanted to go.

The hotel offers free parking to hotel residence. But you have to go to the reception to ask for the exit coupon whenever you plan to exit the carpark.

Felt so in love with this room that I kind of miss it even after 2 months. With the objective of this trip being eat, rest, work, the fundementals were met. The ease of driving back to the room after a satisfying gourmet adds on to the wonderful experience.

The room that I got was upgraded to Jr. Suite somehow. Thanks to the hotel for that. Just like any normal hotel room, facilities were just as expected from a hotel of this grade and this value. Staffs were quite friendly especially at the Japanese Restaurant. Should try the Sky Lounge, very nive view of JB but the music/Band selection is a bit poor. The location of the hotel was a bit awkward since it's right in front of a housing estate.

We had a weekend trip to JB recently without the kids. The hotel location is in a very crowded town area and with rows of busy stalls and housing area.Personally, it didn't fit our 'weekend getaway theme'. The breakfast buffet was impressive with a wide range of selection and the hotel staff were very helpful. There was a swimming pool which was not accessible directly from the floor we were on. Instead we had to go all the way down, and back up through another elevator on the main lobby floor...

Room Tip: make sure your room has a window... We were initially offered a room without window (not recommended...

The property has a good location, on a hill above the surrounding terrain. Makes for a very good view from the high floors. The service was very good, the staff friendly and eager to help.
The check in process was good, no incidents.
The room is large, with not-so new furniture, but with a very comfortable bed. The TV is a flat screen and has international TV channels
The pool is located in a high floor, and offers a beautiful view of the city.
The breakfast buffet offered with the room is very good, with a lot of variety of asian and international dishes.
The main issue was the cleanliness of the room. There was mildew in the shower area, and the carpet looked like it needed a very good cleaning.
I requested either a room change, or complete cleaning of the room. The attendant at the front desk was friendly, and apologized for the inconvenience. Stated that there were no other rooms available, but she would make sure the room was cleaned. When I returned later, I found the room had been indeed cleaned, but not very thoroughly. I had to call housekeeeping again, and kind of supervise the work to get the matter resolved.

Room Tip: High rooms have a beautiful biew. You can see some areas of Singapore

Booked a standard queen bed room with the hotel but was upgraded to a huge APARTMENT SUITE upon check in at the lobby reception! The suite was clean and looked heavenly. Staff of hotel were helpful and friendly. Food in hotel was very affordable. Not exceptionally fantastic but it was definitely ok for the amount paid. Pool wasn't very big but it was cosy and located at the 11th storey, you could have a pretty lovely view of the city. Overall experience was great!

Stayed there quite few times. The most recent was staying there in mid of March 2012, room at level 9. The room is big like what other travelers commented, however was lil disappointed abt the room quality. Water are moving slow in hand wash basin, but is fixed after we requested for room service. The night before we check out, our room door was spoiled without reason, it just couldn't be locked. The repairmen came to fix it from 9.30pm till 10.30pm, we couldn't wait any longer without doing anything as the repair guys were still fixing it (we had not shower yet and had to work early in the morning the next day), so we request to change to another room. The Duty Manager agreed and helped us up to move to another room. After we switched to the new room, same thing happened again, the water moving even slower at hand wash basin than the previous room.

The breakfast was good without continuous same recipes everyday. However the female supervisor on duty was rude, jokes loudly with her staff and talked without manner when requested warm water from her. You have to wait for the tables if there is crowd of tourists.

Overall is ok but not as good as Mutiara Hotel at JB.
