“Excellent hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2014

My company stays here for business and I really like staying at this hotel. It is a very nice, clean smart hotel with very comfortable beds and all of the in room facilities you require including tea, coffee, free wifi etc.

The bath is the deepest bath I have ever bathed in and it is really nice to relax in. The toiletries supplied are also of a nice quality.

There is a very good gym in the hotel and also a roof top pool that is really nice to relax in, just remember to cover up when walking from the pool area to other areas of the hotel.

There are a couple of restaurants on site and they also offer room service with a good selection of food including a spice menu that offers kebabs, curry etc

There is a souk nearby to go shopping and there are also a few restaurants opposite the hotel that a cheap for a curry or kebab.

Overall a great stay and can't wait to come back.

The Kuwait City Courtyard by Marriott is a part of a new, luxury, business, commercial and hotel complex, well located on Shuhada Street, a 20 minute walk from Souk Sharq and the Kuwait trademark Water Towers (and yes, one can pleasantly walk in Kuwait during the winter months).

I spent three weeks in a luxury single room, which was very comfortable, spacious and well suited for business needs (internet connection, desk, etc.). Amenities are quite good, although not at the level of a five-star hotel. The bed was extremely comfortable, the room well maintained and the staff pleasant and capable.

The health club is quite large and well equipped and I made good use of it as often as I had time. The staff are well trained and can offer assistance.

There are only 2 restaurants in the hotel - a buffet and an Indian - both of which produce excellent food. The buffet, the Atrium Restaurant, (with a limited ala carte menu as well) is in the hotel's 8 story atrium and is where I had every breakfast and many dinners. The Indian restaurant (Soul and Spice) is on the same floor but is enclosed, allowing for a more intimacy. While not especially spicy (I thrive on chilies), the food is well prepared, well presented and very tasty.

Other than a Pizza Hut and a not so good Japanese restaurant, the only other restaurants in the neighborhood to which one might walk at night are 2 other Indian restaurants. If one has a friend or colleague that knows Kuwait, or is willing to take a taxi to the Avenues or Marina malls, the choice of eateries is largely magnified.

As usual, the staff make or break a hotel. At Courtyard, the staff are well trained, generally very pleasant and helpful people which helped to make my stay a pleasure.

Room Tip: My room was on the 9th floor, with a very good view. Because of the atrium, if you are offered a roo...

I stayed here for business in January 2014. This was the closest hotel to my client’s offices.

Positives
• The staff in the hotel are very friendly and helpful
• The rooms are a reasonable size
• Breakfast was good with plenty of options
• The gym was very good with a very good selection of machines
• Location is pretty good. There are three malls within walking distance of the hotel. One of the malls (Al Hamra Tower) has a good selection of restaurants.

Negatives
• Selection of English language channels was not great (this is a minor issue)

Would I stay here again?
Yes, this is a good option for Kuwait and is competitively priced compared to some of the other hotels.

Visited this hotel for the first time in November 2013. Situated near to the city and other main areas in the other direction this is well placed for business. Great views of the Sea from the ecellently laid out spacious rooms. Gym & Pool were perfect too and the reception areas, restaurant , and lounge area was well designed. Indian restaurant was Ok too and for members, the club lounge was big and well set out, just a bit wierd that they don't use glasses for drinks, but paper cups - bit strange.
I will certainly use this hotel everytime i'm in Kuwait and loved it. Being a fussy Virgo that likes clean lines, no mess and everything tidy this Hotel hits the spot.

Room Tip: Sea facing gives you a great view . get a high floor too.

First time in Kuwait-was not sure what to expect. But this is a good option -
Wifi available through out the hotel. Had breakfast & lunch at the hotel - decent not exceptional.Staff are efficient & friendly.

They picked us up from the Airport- that's a plus.

Kuwait is not a tourist destination. If you just want a sensible option for a night or two when business takes you there; then this is it.
