“Paradise Malindi”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2008

I just returned from a 3-day weekend at Dream Africa. This was a wonderful hotel. The hotel staff were very friendly, the grounds and rooms were well maintained and the food was excellent. Very large rooms and the balconies were an added plus. There did seem to be a bit of a problem with flies on our last day. We were constantly swatting them away during breakfast. We werent sure if they did not spray the night before or had not sprayed yet for the day, but this was not a problem on the other 2 days.

The beach was beatiful and the security staff were very good about keeping the "beach boys" away. If you engaged them then the security guard would come over and watch to make sure everything was OK. But there was never a feeling of being unsafe.

We went to the Dream of Africa hotel for a week in mid June, we had a fantastic time especially because we got a £1000+ holiday for half price- this was to try and lure the tourists back after the troubles earlier in the year.

We were a bit aprehensive about going to Kenya because of this but we felt so safe when we were there and didnt feel safe or experience any trouble at all.

The Dream of Africa hotel was beautiful and very luxurious, I felt we had defiantly got our moneys worth however i think we would have been dissapointed if we had paid full price. The hotel was very small which was a bit claustrophobic however the staff were very friendly and the service was exceptional. The food was outstanding an unlike the usually AI buffet it was an al a carte menu every day for lunch and dinner. The weather was a bit hit and miss but we knew that before we booked as it was end of the rainy season.

We booked a 3 day/2 ngt Tsavo safari and booked this before we went, we booked it through Ozi from African Concept Safaris
www.africanconcept.co.ke. The safari was excellent and Ozi was a great guide, he really made the safari special and I would definatly recommend African Concept to anyone.

Ozi arranged for us to visit Malindi Airport Primary school so we brought books, pens and pencils over with us, the visit was well worth while especially handing each child a book or pen.

We would definatly return to kenya and the Dream of Africa.

DREAM OF AFRICA

Before I write a review of our two week stay at this outstanding intimate hotel, I would like to stress to all potential visitors to Kenya that the past troubles do not effect visitors and never has.

Kenya relies very much on tourism, and is as safe as ever. They need us !!!

Everything at this Hotel is very much 5*, all of the staff are trained to the highest standards, nothing is any trouble at all. It would be unfair to single out any one member of staff, this reflects very much on their training by the management.

The quality of the suites, the cleanliness and the layout are second to none.

The meals are outstanding, there is always something on the extensive menu, and should there not be something you fancy , the chef will prepare you something

In my last 5 visits to Kenya this Hotel proved to be the best.

Some people complain about the Beach Boy’s, however they are a mine of information if you take time to listen to them. They are only trying to earn a few shillings, the lack of tourists have hit these people hard.

Safaris and trips, there are many outlets who are trying to sell you these, from the Hotel Travel Agent to the Village Agents, also some Beach Boys.

I did many weeks of research before I booked our Safari and Balloon Trip to the Massai, I eventually booked with Abdul of Tunda Tours. I was informed that he was a Beach Boy, this is not true, this man is Top Class Business man who as the highest standards and ensures that everything is 100%.plus !!!

Thank you Dream of Africa for giving us the best dream to remember, and also a big Thank you to Abdul “Tunda Tours” for an unforgettable 3 day Safari !!!!!!!
