“Paradise in Kenya”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2013

Extraordinary! Eventhough you feel like in the middle of italian beach (90 % of guests are from Italy) the international spirit is there. Excellent service. All rooms with view to almost private swimming pool which we used in the evening after wole day at the beach. Marco - the manager takes care of all guests and train the stuff to highest standards. Private breakfast - unique!

Room Tip: All are very much OK!!! 5 stars standard.

My second trip to Malindi and this trip was focused on fishing the Indian Ocean... hot and fairly cramped and tiring but exciting two days, on a boat. We really needed pampering...lovely large rooms with super efficient air-conditioning and tastefully done. The main pool was ready for use by 8.00 am and the beach blissfully empty of hawkers and hustlers, quite unlike our last stay when no sooner had we stepped onto the beach, we were swarmed, unpleasantly so, by jambo-ing men and women. Friendly staff and I do recommend the Spa...the relaxing massage was BLISSFUL! The gardens are lovely and well tended...enjoyed and chilled. If you want to do nothing more that relax, Kilili is the place for you.

I'd give this hotel 3 stars if that. The room looked old and shabby. Breakfast had to be ordered to the room, so when you order a fruit platter you get one banana, half a passion fruit and one piece of mango - awful! When Kenya is known for the freshest fruits and vegetables, ordering an orange juice and getting it from a carton is just not good enough. For the same price you could stay at much better places across the coast!!

The hotel is very nicely done, with the coastal touch. I took the Room near the spa, had a nice big pool next to the room. Service and food was good. I was so disappointed with the beach it was full of sea weed, couldnt walk or swim, probably seasonal.
Theres a gym on the beach. Breakfast is served in the rooms. Poor waiters have to really walk up and down with the food trays.
Spa ought to use some nice aromatic oils rather then a cream, otherwise it was a well done massage!
Rooms need tea making facility.

This place is GORGEOUS. The food is amazing, the decor is tasteful, the staff are friendly, amazingly skilled in languages and just attentive enough (I find too much attention can be a bit oppressive), and the facilities including numerous swimming pools and a spa are excellent.

You pay for it. But if you wanted to splash out - particularly for a romantic trip - I would highly recommend it.

My only hesitation is that it is so magazine-destination perfect, that it lacks a laid back edge that you might associate with a beach holiday - but that's a matter of personal taste. Also it looses a mark or two for not being in Watamu - down the road - which has a better beach.

Otherwise, if you can afford it, pack your bags and come! You'll be blown away.

I highly reccomend this gorgeous resort to everyone! It is beautiful, very welcoming, and comfortable. The service is great and the staff is just so friendly! Amazing!
If you have a passion for snorkeling, like I do, well this is the resort for you!
The reef barrier is spectacular! Everyday the low tide arrives with a 45 minute delay...and the sea turns into a true paradise!
Amazingly Beautiful !
