“Excellent!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2013

I was there with my clients-A couple on honeymoon. On arrival we got a warm welcome from the staff, the tents were spacious and very clean. Everything went on smooth and i felt very relaxed as i would hear my clients compliment everything when we went out for game drives. This was our starting point for a 7 days safari which included Masai Mara, L. Nakuru, and L. Naivasha.
On the last day as i was getting feedback from my clients about the whole experience, they rated Sentrim Amboseli as the facility they had the best experience.

Since then i have had four more groups to the facility and the response from my clients has been very positive. This makes me not hesitate to bring more groups there.
Keep up

On arrival you get to enjoy the charming character of the reception room, and this design continues to the bar and dining room. The tents are clean and tidy, although there is only curtains covering the open mesh of the tents, so if its windy or dusty, it gets into the room. The tents are tiled and have a functional toilet and shower which is quite modern and clean. One downside was that there was no wifi, but that was the same across most of Africa. It's location was great, close to the entrance of the national park. The bar and pool were a great place to relax between safari drives, like a mini resort. We spent the afternoon reading by the pool. The dining room had lots of choices for all meals. Take advantage of using the viewing deck to see Mt Kilimanjaro , as there is also a watering hole there, and we got some great shots of wildlife coming in for a morning drink.

Room Tip: All the tents seem to be in a good central location.

We began our safari trip in Amboseli and we stayed here for two nights. It was an excellent experience.
The tent was very clean, spacious, fully equipped and absolutely charming. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was cleaner than in the 5 stars hotel we stayed in Nairobi.
The tent has also a nice terrace where you can stay and enjoy the nature.
The bed did not have mosquito net, but there was anti mosquito spray in the room. There were no mosquitoes anyway.
The light did go off during the day and during the night but it was no inconvenience as we were in a game drive or sleeping during those hours.
The food was good but basic with little variety of dishes. Drinks were not included but prices were reasonable.
The staff was friendly and helpful.
There was a masai dance at 9p.m around a camp fire which was nice, but be aware they will ask for money afterwards.

We stayed here on an organized tour. Our tent was nice and spacious, and very comfortable. I would recommend good ear plugs, because you will hear your neighbor. Our neighbor was very loud and obnoxious, but she was also on our tour and was reprimanded for her bad behavior.

We had plenty of hot water and electricity. The food was good and the view of Mt. Kilimanjaro is great in the morning.

Really beautiful setting with wonderful views of Mount Kilimanjaro.
We stayed here at the end of August for one night as part of a seven night safari tour, and this was our second tented accommodation. Much, much better than the first which was also a Sentrim!

The check-in was handled very efficiently with good clear information given regarding meal times and the times when the electricity generator would be switched off: from 11pm - 5am. We were able to hire a torch for free from the shop - we left a deposit which was returned in full when we returned the torch. The shop was also good value for small souvenirs.
There was a safe available at reception without charge.

We were in tent no 16. The tent was modern with a large bedroom area and good tiled floor. There was a spacious wardrobe in the hall area, a fridge and a tea/coffee making facility. There was a desk area and also a hair-dryer - the first one we had in several days. We had lots of space to open out our cases, and a couple of sockets to charge the camera batteries and iphones.

The shower room was great, with large walk-in power shower. We had an 'extra' in the toilet bowl - a large frog!, but he soon swam away.

The sides of the tent had large 'windows' which were mosquito nets, but we had a very stormy night, so the curtains billowed out and the wind knocked over some items in the room. However, we soon got used to this and had no difficulty getting a great night's sleep.

Breakfast was excellent, lots of choice and eggs and omelettes made to order.

I would have no hesitation in recommending this lodge.

We stayed here on safari. The tents are comfortable, and the food is good. Tents are reasonably close so when your neighbour talks you will hear it, and if they use the hair dryer at 5:30 am you will hear that too, but that's not fault of the lodge. It is well located to the Amboseli National Reserve and we had a magnificent view of Mt Kilimanjaro from our back porch.

While I thought this facility was slightly better than the one Sentrim we stayed in Mara, it does not deserve 4 or 5 circle ratings. The tents are large and the service was good. The food was mediocre at best. The internet was not included.
