“Cough no more.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2013

The plentiful food is a good cross with western seasonings that would work in a European pub. Darts, companionship and a welcoming management that make any expat feel at home.
Even when crowded the service works and usually with a nice smile.
The only drawback was just eliminated when the smokers finally went outside.

Excellent place, good food, good beer and good staff. Had Christmas lunch in there in 2012 and it was great.

“Great ambiance, friendly service and delicious food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

Live streaming Australian Open Men's Tennis Final (between Djokovic and Murray) on one screen, 5th Cricket ODI (between England and India) on another, mouth-watering chicken tikka masala (with salad, rice and chapati) and a couple of pints of beer, and I was a happy camper. My wife went for a big juicy burger (with Swiss and french fries) and Perrier served cold with fresh slices of lemon. The portions are sizable. All this for under 5,000 Tenge (25 Euros) for two persons, including tax and tip. Most unusual for Almaty!

Service was friendly, attentive and efficient. Vikki, the chef from the state of Odisha in India, is a master of his trade, and he came out to greet us. As for management, one couldn't as for a better host than Neeraj (from Agra, the home of the Taj Mahal). Languages spoken: English, French, Russian, Kazakh and Hindi.

I detected five nationalities - Americans, British, Germans, Russians and Indians - among the guests in a mere two-hour period. The patrons too are a friendly sort, mostly expats. Less than ten-minute walk from KIMEP, so I expect to go there several times a week.

“lots of expats”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2013

food was average, beer was good company was excellent. it was very cold when I was there with a lot of snow on the ground so lots of big coats meant the seating areas were jammed in and lots of bodies made for a warm and musky evening
