After reading how famous Ishigaki beef is, I had to try. Apparently Yamamoto is very famous/popular bbq restaurant with individual grills for each table. As Yamamoto is not a large restaurant, recommend booking well in advance as the restaurant seems to stop taking customers after 7 pm as it looks like they want to close by 9 pm. No English menu, some pictures, very little English spoken.
This is Korean bbq restaurant. You can order three kinds of kimchi (delicious) and assorted cuts of beef. The ribeye at JPY 3,900 (200 grams) was pricey and good if you like fatty meat. I also had the tongue (seasoned and thinly sliced which when cooked and you add thinly raw onion) was great. The marinated beef was leaner and also delicious.
Overall, the experience is similar to going to a simple Korean bbq restaurant but the beef was delicious and worth trying once.
