“Beautiful scenary”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 23, 2013

We went on a weekday and it was pretty quiet, Most of the visitors aseemed to have come by tour bus or by car; we took the city bus and it was easy to find the place. It was a cold and windy day. We could see oyster and pearl farms as we enjoyed the cruise around the islands. The captain is very experienced and steered through the challenging sections with ease; we could enjoy some sense of adventure balancing ourselves on the ferry when he was doing a u turn and charting through choppy waters in some parts of the cruise. Overall it was a nice experience and the duration was just right. There is nothing much to do after the cruise so we killed time at the souvenir shop next to the bus stop while waiting for city bus to take us back to JR Sasebo station.

“Fabulous Cruise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013

The resort comprised of Cruise excursion terminal, Kujukushima Aquarium, souvenir shops and restaurants. Cruise pamphlet available in different languages and narration during the cruise ride was in both Japanese and English. Felt the 50 minutes cruise (1200 yen) gone by quickly as the scenery of 99 Islands was so amazing. We went to the top deck to enjoy the gentle breezes and waves of the sun while capturing the spectacular sceneries.

There were regular and rapid buses ran from Sasebo JR station to Pearl Sea every half hour for 230 yen per trip. Set tickets for cruise trip plus one day bus pass for 1400 yen were available in JR station ticketing counters.
Wish to return in winter to taste the local specialty of oysters.

“A great boat trip and more”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013

We enjoyed a trip among the 200+ islands on the Pearl Queen at the Saikai Pearl Sea Resort. The boat was very comfortable and relaxing, and the scenery beautiful. The trip takes about 50 minutes and is well worth the time. Another boat, a "pirate ship" is available for touring the islands as well. We took this trip after visiting the aquarium at the resort which is also worthwhile. It is small, but so interesting you would not want to miss it. After our cruise, we had drinks at Pinocchio and then dinner at a restaurant next door, the best dinner and service you could ask for. It was my last day in Sasebo and was very memorable.
