“Convenient but expensive hotel at Kansai Airport. All in all, was worth it!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2012

Way over budget for us, but turned out to be worth every cent for the convenience of arriving at night and not having to travel on and find our accommodation in Osaka at night. Settled into room, then found Lawson's convenience store on lower level which supplied us with cheap alcoholic drinks and snacks! We then went to food courtyard at airport for a great Japanese meal. So many restaurants/eateries to choose from! The top floor consists of more expensive restaurants. We ate at second floor. Back at the hotel, the broadband ethernet connection worked well (no wifi in room, but available in lobby). Free ice available for drinks from vending machine nearby, shower was great, and yukata robes supplied. A really good buffet breakfast was included in room price (Western or Japanese). We both went mostly Japanese and loved it! Staff were helpful, bed was comfortable, slept well, and would stay here again. Rated 4, would be a 5 if price was a bit lower!

As I had an early morning flight to catch, I didn't want the hassle of battling through the morning rush house with my luggage so I chose Hotel Nikko Kansai due to its proximity to the airport (only a 3 min walk across the aeroplaza) and the good reviews online. Fortunately I was not dissapointed and would not hesitate to make another booking if I ever travel via Kansai Airport in the future. Great location, staff were polite, good range of facilities, very clean and well kept and reasonable pricing when booked online through their promotional offers.

If I need to spend the night at Kansai Airport, Hotel Nikko is the number choice for me. Clean, nice rooms, reasonable price and in the very airport building.

I have stayed at Hotel Nikko Kansai Airport several times over the past few years - it is the perfect hotel for when you have an early check-in or your flight gets in late at night and you are not headed to Osaka.

Most recently, I stayed here for one night in July. I got a good deal online via Rakuten for a single room (double bed) - the hotel is not cheap as you are paying for the convenience of it being directly linked to the airport, but in saying that, it is very clean and comfortable as well.

The room is very spacious by Japanese standards and included a massage chair and washlet toilet among other things. There is also a yukata/robe for you to wear to bed if you so choose.

On previous visits I have had the buffet breakfast in the morning which I recall as being good with a lot of variety; however on this trip I went with the cheap option as I would likely get another meal on the plane and headed to the Lawson convenience store (access from lobby) for yoghurt and juice instead.

For dinner options I headed out of the hotel into the Aeroplaza area which has several restaurants at a reasonable price, though slightly more expensive than you would find on the mainland.

There is a good (free) wifi connection in the lobby as well as computers where you pay 100 yen per 10 minutes of internet usage.

Staff service was impeccable with fast check in/check out and staff also escorted me to my room and carried my luggage.

If you are planning to spend some time in Osaka, I would not bother staying here but if you are leaving early the next day or are en route to elsewhere in Japan, this is a perfect option for a good rest.

Nice hotel. Much bigger room than the one we stayed in at Osaka. No minibar, few tv channels, but rooms and facilities were very clean. Staff was courteous. Nice breakfast.

But the main draw was really the convenience of being connected to the kansai airport/train station via bridge. So you can check out two hours before your flight and have a stress free airport experience. If you have an early morning flight this is a great hotel to stay in. It also doesnt hurt that the kansai airport has a number of interesting shops and restaurants. I definitely recommend this place to anyone who values convenience while traveling.

Not much to say about an airport hotel. You are paying for the convenience. This hotel is just off the airport and for late arrivals, it is the only real option, unless you speak decent Japanese and willing to head into Osaka proper. It was clean and checking in and out was efficient. Beds were a little hard.

Room Tip: If you arrive late, the airport will be empty. Head outside toward the parking deck. Look for the ho...

For what I needed, a quiet night without the 45-60 minute journey from Osaka to catch my early-morning flight, this was ideal. The room rate via the hotel's site was reasonable, the room (a twin for single occupancy) and the bathroom were large by Japanese standards, the good selection of toiletries (toothbrush and paste, hairbrush, etc) saved me from having to unpack even my in-flight toilet kit, there was no noise from either the very efficient A/C, the (thickly carpeted) corridors or the airport and the alarm clock worked. The food and service in the Japanese restaurant were of high quality, belying the anonymous decor, and the breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of fresh and cooked Japanese and Western items. Check-in and check-out were fast. As other reviewers have said, the only drawback was the lack of in-room WiFi (cabled connection only).

Room Tip: As the hotel appears to have both smoking and non-smoking rooms, state your choice when reserving.
