This hotel is very well located, just 50 m far from the Minatomirai line (Motomachi station).
It's located at one of the entrance to China town, always full of people and tourists.
Hotel's personnel is very kind, ready to satisfy your request. The hotel is clean, the rooms are very spatious, with wardrobe; the bathroom is spatious. The hotel is nice and there is a pool over the roof, that's very nice for children!!

This was our first visit over seas. We stayed 8 nights. The staff was wonderful. We brought a tranlation book, prepared to translate. To our surprise, most of them spoke excellent english. If they didn't speak English, they would find someone who did. The location was perfect. We had tours in Tokyo and Kyoto and were easily able to get to them! We highly recommend the breakfast. Though a little high priced, everything was fresh and delicious. We had supper in the resturaunt a few times. It was resonably priced and tasted wonderful as well. The room was spacious, and the bed was VERY comfortable. Easily fell asleep each night. The room was clean. However, we asked for a non smoking room. The room we got was non smoking but still smelled like an ashtray. Almost as if the room was smoking until it was time for us to check in. We had to purchase Febreeze to remove the smell. I had dreamed of visiting Japan my entire life. Overall, this hotel was PERFECT for our dream vacation. Thank you Rose Hotel!

The Rose Hotel is located in Chinatown, very close to a subway station (Motomachi chukagai). The hotel is a bit old style, but very well maintained. Rooms are good. Loads of restaurant options around, and a Starbucks just around the corner. A 5-min walk from the Yokohama stadium.

We stayed here in May 2013. The location is great 2 mins from China Town and a 5 minute walk to the sea front. The is also a metro station within 200 metres. We were a party of 5 adults sharing 3 rooms. We had a warm welcome and were greated every time we left and entered the hotel. The rooms were cleaned every day with clean sheets and towels. I had done my research on the wi fi and brought my own wireless router, worked first time with 30MB download speed. The hotel rented out wi fi routers for 1000 yen for 10 days for use in your bedroom. There was no charge for the internet. The bedrooms had 32 inch TV, tea/coffee maker and minibar. The bathrooms were spotless. I would also like to thank Rosita who spoke very good English and was very helpfull. We requested a smokers bedroom and the request was met by the hotel. Overall a great hotel with spacious rooms in great location.

Room Tip: We had rooms on the 8th floor, they all had balconies however the sliding doors only opened 6 inches...

Stayed here for the whole of March 2013. Could not ask for any better. Staff were absolutly amazing, always greeted at the lobby, bed was very comfortable. Quiet all the time. Fantastic room make up everyday. Great location with easy access to every thing in Yokohama. In the heart of China town too, so its pretty special.
I cant wait to go back in August !!!!!!!!

Our location is definitely one of our fortes and in fact, with the recent expansion of the Minato Mirai subway line, access (to Tokyo) has become even better. In regards to access within Yokohama, we can also strongly recommend the tourist bus right in front of the hotel that will take you around the main Yokohama sites for only 100JPY.

I stayed in a twin room at the Rose Hotel for one night in April, 2013. I had read some of the reviews before I went. The room was a better than average size for Japan but it smelled smokey and the pipes were noisy when a shower or bath was running above. The room had a LAN connection, but no wi-fi. Wi-fi was available in the lobby but there was no place in the lobby where one could use a computer comfortably.

The staff swarmed around to be helpful but it came across as smarmy and ingratiating . Too much, really. The breakfast buffet was over-priced for what it was. The price of the room, though, was reasonable and the location perfect for Chinatown,

Thank you very much for staying with us and for your valuable feedback. We are very sorry for the inconveniences that you experienced during your stay at Rose Hotel. We are in fact currently in the course of implementing free Wi-fi in all rooms and expect to be done in the near future. In the meantime, apart from the complimentary Wi-fi offered in the lobby and deluxe rooms, we kindly ask guests requiring wireless internet access to make use of our rentable Wi-fi routers.
We find it quite unsettling that our staff’s conduct came across in the way that it did. Our staff does their very best to welcome all guests and make sure guests are not left unattended. We do apologize, however, if you felt that this was excessive and wish to do our utmost to adjust our staff’s approach according to individual guests’ needs.
We hope that you enjoyed your visit to Yokohama nonetheless and look forward to welcoming you again to Rose Hotel in the future.

This hotel was our first stop in a week of introducing Japan to my never-before-overseas aunt and uncle. We stayed in Yokohama as we were to meet a friend of theirs who lives there, and I thought it would be easy enough to get into Tokyo for sightseeing--which it was. We took the bus from Narita to Ycat, and then a taxi to the hotel (about 1200 yen).
I was surprised the hotel was celebrating its 10th anniversary, as it did seem like it was from an earlier era based on the decor. We had a king room and a twin room; both were plenty big enough, with good shower facilities. Mechanism was easy enough for the non-travellers to figure out.
Negatives: only one accessible outlet in the room, so I had to rotate my humidifier, CPap and computer, as well as chargers. Hallways smelled of smoke, but not too strongly--but we were on a non-smoking floor.
Plusses: Staff were fabulous, and they all spoke very good English, which put my aunt and uncle very much at ease to leave their room on their own. Breakfast was good. Doorman always had a taxi within a minute or two for us, and walking around Chinatown could not have been easier. It was a bit of a schlep into Yokohama station, but of course from there anywhere was easy. If you plan to spend any time in Chinatown, this would be a great hotel.

Room Tip: View from my room was a wall. Don't get the _08s.

Thank you for staying at Rose Hotel and we hope your aunt and uncle enjoyed their first visit to Japan. We are indeed celebrating our 10th anniversary and are very glad that this caught your attention. You may have found the décor to be slightly pre 21st century as the hotel was actually built in 1981 and this year’s celebration is that of Rose Hotel re-opening as an independent hotel.
We are aware of the situation considering outlets in the rooms and are very sorry that this caused you some inconvenience. We are currently in the course of implementing extra bedside outlets for chargers and smaller electrical appliances. We also have extension cords at the reception so please feel free to contact us and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Access to Tokyo from the hotel is great, especially with the recent expansion of the Tokyu-Toyoko line you can get to not only Shibuya directly (35min) but also the Shinjuku area (41min).
