“Great place to stay in yokohama”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2013 via mobile

I stayed briefly in this hotel. Everything was great except that the tv channels are very limited. No wowow channels.. and no Dlife channel as well. Too bad if you are going to spend time in the room. However, access to minatomirai station is easy.. as well as the theme park Cosmoworld. I would recommend this hotel for shorter stays.

I stay in Minatomirai several times a year and decided to try Pan Pacific for the first time. I was able to book a balcony room for JPY 8000 ($100 USD), which I thougt was a steal. Granted, I stayed on a Sunday so that may explain the low price.

I went there not expecting much but the room was much larger than I expected and the bathroom was quite spacious. It had a separate shower and a wonderful bath tub -- pretty luxurious and very relaxing. I'm not sure if all the rooms are set up this way but I was really happy with the room.

There are two chairs and a table out on the balcony if you want to sit out there and drink coffee but be forewarned -- the space is TINY. I find it funny that they call it the "balcony room" as if to put emphasis on this feature but it's really not much of a feature.

The hotel staff was exteremely polite and allowed us to check in an hour earlier. Also, another great thing about this hotel is that it is connected to Queen's Square and Landmark Tower so even if it's raining, you can get around without an umbrella. There is a Cosmo World (a small amusement park...more like a local fair in the states) across the way if you want to entertain children. There's lots of shopping; both clothing and anime-type shops. And last but not least, foods galore. There are plenty of places to eat so I would recommend venturing out of the hotel for meals. The restaraunt floor at Collette Mare by the Sakuragicho train station has a good variety but super crowded on weekends. If you want some western sweets, go to World Porters and try the doughnut hole at Leonards too!

Stayed here when the Intercon nearby was fully booked.

Clean and good overall service. Breakfast great. Lots of restaurant options in the adjoining shopping centre.

Re. earlier post on dubbed CNN - there is a button on the remote that removes the voice-over for CNN and BBC World. Only 2 channels in English unfortunately.

Only negative was slow wi-fi on the last night. When I called reception, the response was that there were many foreigners who checked in that evening - hence, the system was overloaded.

Otherwise, a very good hotel - good service. And they did allow an earlier check-in for me after having arrived from London.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the Ferris wheel a good option.

We stayed one night at this hotel after our friend's wedding. Jack's bar was great, with a really nice atmosphere. Our room on the 20th floor was very comfortable and we had a fabulous view. The bathroom was big and very well equipped. Really nice stay in a lovely hotel.

We stayed at the hotel for four nights to attend a Conference at the adjoining Conference and Exhibition Centre. We took a bus from Haneida Airport which stopped right at the hotel main gate after 45 minutes. The rooms are clean and well kept and they have light beige carpet which are very prone to have stains, but the hotel did a good job in keeping it spotless. Our room faces the ferris wheel and the confeence center and has a great view outside. Yokohama is much less crowded than Tokyo and the mall is modern and not crowded with many restaurants and fast food places. The staff of the hotel are so friendly and helpful. They helped us to book for restaurants in rappongi and book our return trip to the airport. The breakfast buffet is adequate but can be crowded in the morning. My only complaint is that they charge 3000 yen for swimming in the hotel pool which only opens from 10am to 10pm, so I missed my morning swim.

Room Tip: cannot think of any
