“Great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2013

I was in Yokohama for a conference.
Very convenient location to reach with if carrying lots of luggage, easy travel around for sightseeing, shopping etc.
Hotel rooms have very nice view of bay area at a good price.
Great service and breakfast options.

This is a well maintained, but typical Japanese business hotel. What this business hotel has going for it is location and views. This was my 3rd or 4th time here and the reason I like it is for the reasons I mentioned, but also because Minato Mirai is one of the great futuristic urban centers of the world. Its simply a very cool, very vibrant area just to walk around. The Rail is across the street and 2 subway stations nearby. Tokyo is 45 minutes away and Chinatown 2 stops (5 minutes) Downtown Yokohama is 2 stops. FYI. If you land in Narita or Haneda, the likelihood is that there are buses that will go directly to this hotel, or across the street at Landmark Tower Hotel.
As I mentioned, you stay here for the location. The rooms are just large enough to walk around, the bathrooms the same, if you upgrade for bay view, you get a really nice view of Minato Mirai... The lobby is average and the eating variety with 10 minutes walk is amazing. My favorite Japanese Restaurant here is downstairs called "Torigin", very Japanese, large variety and excellent in all domains... It is crowded, so service can be slow, but well worth it...

Room Tip: If you care, pay more and get a Bay room. Otherwise, walk out the door and its visual eye candy.

The hotel is small but clean as the other Japan hotel.
It is opposite JR station: Sakuragichō. You don’t have to drag your luggage to walk a long distance.

It’s near landmark tower and it’s not too far to Red Brick House.
It’s very convenient to shopping, dining, sightseeing…

Besides, there is a big window in room, just face Cosmo World. You can see the beautiful night view in your hotel.

The only defeat is the pillow. It’s too hard to sleep and the texture is wired; there seem small bean in the pillow.

For a business trip, this hotel was a reasonable choice--clean, comfortable room, weird bathroom with a very luxurious, high-tech toilet. The room is fine for a small Asian person, but a larger Westerner might find the bathroom impractical in design. I didn't bother with breakfast, as I'd collected too many treats at the street market outside the Yokohama JR station. This hotel is connected to a shopping mall, and there are numerous malls and restaurants nearby, so it is convenient for a brief stay in Yokohama.

Between luxury stays in Tokyo I went to Yokohama for just a one night break and for convenience I checked into the Washington which is right across at Sakuragicho station. For the very low price I paid through Expedia my expectation is low and the room while no doubt small, is adequately equipped and clean for which I have no complaints. What I object to is the practically non-English speaking and inhospitable staff, the hotel has no English name outside, and worst of all, I arrive at 1pm but they insisted that check-in must begin at 2pm., the clerk simply did not bother to check if anything available. Worst, the next morning as early as 10:05 they call the room and reminded me that check out must be at 10am. So they need 4 hours for clean up at the expense of customers who expect a 24-hr rent. There are other budget hotels that are more human. This hotel gave me bad impression of the whole Washington chain.

Room Tip: Convenience across rail station : I think rooms are identical

Although the hotel is right outside the front of the JR Station was not obvious where the front of the hotel was. We arrived early and hotel looked after our luggage till room was ready, when we returned, still an hour before check in room was ready. We did book room with room metre squared quoted but did not appreciate how small it was going to be. Room was fully equipped though with all that we needed and was clean. Did not have breakfast so no comment there.

If you can avoid, AVOID
The room are terrible the pillow are made of plastic bubble inside , the breakfast expensive and discussing, staff unfriendly
Just across the plaza you have the new Otani for the same price you have a good night sleep and a can have a good international breakfast, only inconvenience is the internet access free but by cable
