Nice lift lobby on the ground floor. Direct airport limousine access in front of the hotel. Stayed here for 1 night in a Twin room. Slept very well, comfy bed, modern room - spacious and clean with nice city view. Easy access to Shin-Yokohama station, which is just opposite. Beside the hotel there's a stretch of restaurants and a supermarket.

Will definitely stay here again if we ever come to Yokohama!

There's very little not to like about this property; lots of shopping right in the complex between the hotel and train station, and easy access to regular rail and shinkansen trains right next door. Lots to look at in walking distance, too, including a pachinko parlor, lots of great food places, book stores, and the Ramen Museum.

The rooms are on the smallish side, so if you're traveling with family/friends, you'll find a standard double room a bit cramped. For a solo traveler, though, as I was the last time I stayed here, a single room is plenty big enough.

The closet is very small; you won't be able to actually "move in," but it will do for a weekend or so. However the beds are super-clean, the bathroom is modern and spotless, there's a TV and free LAN internet access, nice views from all the rooms if you're high enough, and the staff is amazing and friendly. Their English is very good, too.

Limousine buses run directly between both Narita and Haneda and the Shin Yokohama Prince, making it very easy to get into and out of the hotel. As of this review, a one-way bus ticket was about $37 per person.

Room Tip: If you're a light sleeper, try to book a high floor. The shinkanesen trains run past the hotel...

We stayed here in 2008 and 2010, reserved as a Prince Club International member and everything was excellent.

This year everything has changed where making a reservation is concerned.
There seems to be no longer any PCI membership benefits. The complimentary buffet breakfast has disappeared. It is not now possible to plan a trip while referring to the (former) PCI rate sheet as it doesn't exist anymore! You must now provide the hotel with specific dates to determine prices. This makes any sort of advance planning a logistical nightmare.

Out of curiosity we visited the hotel website and see the "deals" we previously experienced as PCI members are now standard. Reserving well in advanced always resulted in a discount, as did stays for consecutive nights. Before these discounts could be combined but that is not possible on the reservation.

To anyone contemplating staying there, the Shin-Yokohama Prince is one amazing excellent hotel with great staff. Should you want to have dinner off-site the Tsubame Grill in the station mall is excellent also!

Good luck however with making your reservations!

we stayed for a total of six nights at the Prince Hotel in Shin Yokohama. we had a great room with an amazing view of Yokohama. the room was clean aside from some stains on the carpet. the room included a mini fridge, a safe, good toiletries, & a blow dryer.this hotel is in serious need of updating as the in room blow dryer did not work (travel blow dryer was provided), the carpets were stained, the bedding was worn and the decor was at least 25 years old. Excellent staff. $75 a night and 1 block from the Shin Yokohama train station it was a great value.

This hotel has a convenient location very near the station and only a few minutes walk to the convention center. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. The rooms are tiny as already mentioned in several reviews, but that's expected in Japan. My only two wishes were for wi-fi in the room (you have to go to the lobby for wi-fi) and for an A/C that would get the room cooler than 23 degrees C. The hotel staff promptly supplied us with an excellent fan when we complained about the A/C, so I'm still rating them very good. Also, we were very happy that they had a coin washer and dryer available to do your own laundry.

I expected a good hotel in Japan with everything well thought out. And so it is.

Location: It is near to the Shin-Yokohoma station. Attached to a mall. That has an ATM 5 minutes from the hotel lobby. Sweet.

Transportation: Walk-able to Shin-Yokohoma station.

Food: So many "hole in the wall"s across the street. Also the mall directly above the train station is pretty decent for food.

Surrounding: Not much but all amnesties are available by walking. A baseball practice place is nearby. We were terrible at it. Also, the Ramen Museum is walk-able.

Service: I didn't need to ring the front desk. Everything was provided as should be. Nothing amiss.

Room: The room is just enough for 2 (we got a double room). But then again, this is Japan. With our luggage opened, we had to hop around and roll on the bed to go to the other side of the room ala Indiana Jones. Oh well. Japan.
