I was unsure when my host booked buffet for dinner, but this wasn't like the buffets I'm used to! Dozens of French-inspired dishes in shallow servers so they were fresh and warm; sliced to order beef and made to order mini crepes, a dessert buffet and ice cream rounded out the offerings. The view of the harbor was lovely and as usual in Japan, the service was great. They also had an "open bar plan" which was 2200 yen for all you could drink from a decent list in two hours. My co- worker made good use of that!
