“Outstanding service and HUGE rooms”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2012

We recently stayed 3 nights at the Hilton Tokyo Bay while we spent a few days at Tokyo Disneyland & DisneySea. The staff were so helpful and friendly from check-in to check-out. The Bell staff were more than happy to book onward bus transfers for our family.
The rooms were HUGE. Our family of four is getting used to having to book 2 rooms while traveling Asia, but the Happy Magic theme room more than comfortably suited our needs . A kingsize bed for the parents and king single beds for the kids. The bath was massive where I could stretch out and soak in a hot bath after a tiring day traipsing around Disneyland. The bath was hot and filled fast!!
The only downside was no international ATMs on site, but this seemed typical of Tokyo. The helpful staff were able to direct us to the free courtesy bus (in Mickey Mouse theme design) which took us to Ikspiari shopping mall where international bank card holders could withdraw cash from the 7-Eleven.
We did not dine in the restaurants, but the onsite convenience store meant we could easily buy beer, snacks and sandwiches.
All in all - a great stay.

I recently had the opportunity to stay at the Hilton Tokyo Bay for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful and all speak passable English. There is a Disney souvenier shop, Patisserie and Convenience Store on the ground floor.

The Disney souvenier shop has a limited range of items, but prices are exactly the same as in the shops in the two Disney parks, so you can feel free to buy something there. The Patisserie has fresh cakes, croissants, muffins etc. so you can stop there for a quick baked snack. The Convenience Store is small, but quite well stocked... it has a variety of snacks, quick meals and drinks as well as some toiletries, cosmetics etc. There is an ATM, but it only takes Japanese and Chinese bank cards. The front desk can exchange money, but only for a few currencies. If you need money, you can go to the nearby Ikspiari shopping mall.

I stayed in one of the CELEBRIO rooms overlooking the Disney Parks. The room decor is futuristic and minimalistic, but still fun. I really enjoyed all the different lighting and the iPod docking station. The bed was really comfortable and I slept well every night.

Breakfast was crowded, but service was good. There was a wide selection of food, so everyone should be able to find something to suit their taste. The Disney Resort Line station is really close to the hotel, so it is really convenient to take the monorail. Disneyland itself is only about 1 km away, so it can be reached easily on foot if need be.

I truly enjoyed my stay and would gladly stay at this hotel again.

We booked weeks in advance for 2 adults and 2 children in a happy magic room, including breakfasts and dinners. Our booking was confirmed and paid in full up front with the website stating price was valid for number of guests entered.
We checked in - room was brilliant, kids very thrilled!! Heaps of space.
When we went to dinner the problems started. They would not provide dinner for my children - I was told we had to pay 2200YEN per child to eat. I immediately went to reception to asked for this to be rectified. They told me the rate only covered 2 adults - not the children.
I discussed this with 3 staff in total, and got nowhere. The hotel refused to honor the stated rate and inclusions of room, breakfast and dinners for the guests booked.
Very upset. I had to pay any time our children ate at the restaurant.

I have tried addressing with Hilton's central customer serviceline - who won't handle anything outside the USA.
Have emailed Hilton's customer service address - without a response.
So unimpressed with the hilton.

If staying at Tokyo Bay Hilton - don't include meals if you are traveling with children. Disneyland food is very affordable and is open from breakfast through dinner!

Room Tip: Happy Magic Room was great - even had a view of Mt Fuji in the mornings. Check that they are provid...

My grandson and I had the most wonderful stay here. The part of the hotel he found most enjoyment was the Kids area in Reception. A brilliant idea to work off the excess energy and to get to know other children whilst the adults check-in. We were fortunate enough to experience both the Happy Magic Room and Celebrio Rooms and they were both very interesting, spacious and comfortable. The mood lighting in the bath was rather relaxing and a topic of interest for a child. What amazed me most was the presence of a convenience store in the hotel - after the prices paid at Disneyland. Breakfast at The Square could offer a little more variety. The Shuttle was good, efficient and courteous and most of all I would like to thank all the staff at the Front of House. They were always helpful, polite, cheerful and no request was too big! Well done and thank you for an unforgettable stay!

Room Tip: Rooms facing the park would be more interesting if there are children, sounds obvious.

We stayed in the Japanese suite. The room included a large room where the futons go, a sitting room, a tea room, and a bathroom. The futons only come out at night, and you have to designate a time to lay them out. It is not very comfortable, as it is just two thin mats laid on top of each other. The hotel is also due for a renovation, in my opinion. Plus side is there are the sliding doors, which made the room pitch black. Also, it was a very quite hotel. We didnt have to pay for parking either, which was nice. We were there on a weekend, and there is a free shuttle to the train station on weekends and holidays, which was nice because we did not go to Disney. The first night we ate at the buffet, which was good, but cost $150 for two people, which is insane. The only meal we had that was more than half that in Japan was in Kobe where we ate high grade Kobe steak in a nice restaurant. Do not eat in the hotel. Overall, I would really only recommend this hotel for families, otherwise stay in the downtown hilton.

We stayed here in order to Enjoy Disneyland in the evening without having to trek home. My daughter (7) was the most exited I have seen about the room. We stayed in Happy Magic Room and it certainly seemed like accurate description. The room was big with lots of space, activities for kids including a magic mirror. We fully enjoyed the Garden Pool, which is the outdoor pool. Although there is a cost to get in I would recommend during the Japanese summer. In fact the kids like the pool so much we skipped Disneyland on the second day. Food in the hotel is expensive and my big tip is to use the conviniece store in the hotel that sells everything at reasonable price when you are not looking to really spend time eating. The hotel also has a great patesserie where we got our breakfast to eat in the room.

Room Tip: The Happy Magic Rooms definetely made my kids Happy.

The hotel is in a perfect location for vising both Disney parks and the Ikspiari shopping centre. The monorail taking you to all three is just across the road from the hotel. There is a free shuttle bus to the monorail station but unless you have mobility problems there is no need to use it. The fare is around £2 per trip and if you buy a multiday pass it works out cheaper. We booked a package at the hotel including breakfast which saved a lot of money. Breakfast is very busy but we didn't have to wait for a table and the food is good. Lots of people have mentioned a convenience store in the hotel and we found it very useful. We didn't find the prices any more expensive than the supermarket in Ikspiari. Our three bedded room was a good size, very clean and housekeeping left three bottles of water every day. We really enjoyed it ,the only problems were getting a taxi to Haneda at 7am in the morning. We had mentioned it at reception the evening before and the person on the desk made a note about our request to pass on to the person in the morning. There was no taxi and it took ages to get one. Also she offered us an early morning call which never came. The other thing was the charges for the pool. We had been sightseeing in Tokyo and had a couple of days when we weren't going to Disney. These were going to be pool days. But at check in we were told that it was 3000 yen per person to go in the pool. Fortunately my husband is an Hilton silver member so it was half price! On our second day we still had to pay even though we were asked to leave the pool at 3pm because of a private party for Swiss day. We have never had to pay to use an outdoor pool at a hotel. For a family of four this could have worked out at £100 per day.
