“Simply the best!”

This temple is one of the most impressive of all the temples and shrines I saw during my trip. Simply marvelous!

“Feel the soul of Japan”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2013

We travel to Japan at least once a year and visit Narita-san each time at the day of our flight back. The road from Narita rail station is rather picturesque and You can feel the smell of REAL Japanese life, a lot of local people visit Narita-san and pray there. Park is also beautiful

“Well worth a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2013

Although there are other famous temples in Tokyo, this one is excellent as it is a large complex, with a number of different buildings, explanatory signage in English, and surrounded by an exquisite park. If you have an overnight stopover in Tokyo, and time in the afternoon or following morning, it is worth staying in Narita town and visiting this temple complex. Stay in the town itself, and you will be able to walk. The airport itself is another 10 mins down the train line.

After visiting the temples and gardens, there is a fascinating walk back towards the train station - lots of shops, pubs and restaurants. Our hotel (the Richmond) gave us a walking map.

“Pleasant surprise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2013

I guess most people only see Narita as the airport itself which is a shame. If you get a chance to spend a few more hours in the city you should definitely visit Naritasan. It's a beautiful complex featuring temples, Pagodas and gardens… Oh my God, the gardens. I went there during the spring (late November) and the colors were just breathtaking. The street that leads to Naritasan has a lot of shops where you can buy local food and all kinds of souvenirs.

I highly recommend it.

It was HUGE !!! It was sooooooo beautiful and we got there just in time to see the Monks walking in for a Ceremony. Definitely take some time to explore. The short walk from the Narita Kasei train station (about 15/20 min) There is a sign in the Train station pointing in the direction of & a fascinating walk through the village where the locals are selling their fresh fish, etc...
